I can't find any posts thru search here on the engine recall other than a few of you mentioning replacement.
We've tried talking with dealer and they aren't moving forward yet. Does anyone know when this will start?
The people we've talked to don't.
This is our tow vehicle for our rv so we want this fixed ASAP .
We are very frustrated that we have to wait on Toyota to officially start fixing this issue.

You and 100,000 other people. It is going to take some time to get them all completed. There are threads here dedicated to the recall, engine failures, related issues, quite a few of them.

Here is a quick search of the site for recall in the 3rd gen forum- 10+ pages of hits and threads for you to peruse.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I had the same concern for an upcoming atv trip and I contacted the Toyota Brand Engagement which was given in the recall letter. The agent was able to confirm that through your local Toyota Dealer that Toyota will authorize a rental for you to use on your trip if you feel unsafe driving your Tundra. At $60 per day rental. This is no charge to you and as long as your truck is part of the active recall.
You have to get prior authorization from Toyota Brand Engagement who contacts your Service Manager at your local dealer. At my dealer if they don’t have any Tundra loaners they use a rental company like Enterprise to get you a pickup with a tow package.
It truly is a big help if you have an upcoming trip. Toyota is stepping up and is helping until your engine is replaced.

Inside sources say long block replacements should start sometime Q4.
