got the four nuts off of the fan but cant get the fan to separate from the pulley..its caked on there good. The TRQ Youtube video for timing belt replacement, which is what I'm doing, just shows it wobble right off, of course. But it was edited... there's not much swinging room, so I have my hammer turned sideways and giving one inch taps all around trying not to damage the fins. I cant even see a line between the orange fan base and the pulley..its almost as if they are one piece but I know they arent. Would be obliged for any tips. Gunna be a long one tonight.

Definitely hose the entire mounting surface with a penetrating spray. And then have a go at it. Maybe put a screwdriver handle down there to pry against to give you better leverage. Or even take a drift(brass dowel) and ping the base

Hey FrenchToasty, I was going to spray it earlier but after looking close I couldnt see a seam where spray would be able to get behind it, but hey..thats why they call it PENETRATING spray, amiright?? going to spray then ping it with something like you said..thanks for the reply

I use kroil, that stuff will get down anywhere, but you can also spray it into the stud holes and that will get back behind them and onto that mounting surface.

I'd get a piece of trim board, like a 1x1 or 1x2, lay it square on the orange part and BFH that MF. My guess is, you're going to need to break the seal between that and what it was bolted to.

I tell you to use wood, but I have a 14" flathead I'd personally whack down on it with. I wouldn't want to tell anyone else to do that, because I'm not there and can't trust someone would do it as concise or effectively as I would.

I've always used a putty knife.

Tap it in between the Pump and fan flanges with a small ball peenus hammer. Rotate and repeate.

    Thanks
Diablo169..i didnt know there was such a kit. Thx

Shifty, the 1x4 was the answer considering my situation..I live a long ways from parts store and needed to get it off ASAP. I did take a cheap HF 90 degree pick and go around the base which then allowed me to get a micro flathead in there to create a larger crease, which I feel is why I was able to get pentrate down in there better (thanks FrenchToasty)..then I beat it with a sacrificial 1x and was able to get enough room for prybar. Thanks yall.
