Was hoping someone knows how to test the evap can and the valve that sits on it for leaks and function.

There's a few videos of the 2001-2004 models but the evap cans are different on those. The 05-07 models have a valve of some kind with an 8 pin plug on it. I can't find much about it, nor how to test it.

Replacement part is around 500-1000 dollars in Canada here, so I'm inclined to try and find a fault before replacing it.

Already tested the purge valve near the engine, and the gas cap looks good.

Anyone know how to test the Evap Can?

Thanks, it's on the list to try next, but don't have access to one yet.

I'm also not certain it would work to test the actuator valve on the can itself. I was hoping someone could provide guidance on that if they've got any guesses or experience.

Found a wiring diagram... not really sure how I'm going to use it now though...

unfortunately most of the other VSV's on earlier models have 2 wires. You canjust power them with a 9v battery to test if they switch on and off as they should... This system seems overly complex:

I'm skeptical it's even possible to supply power to it to test it the same way.
