I have a 13’ 5.7 double cab 6.5’ bed and need a quiet exhaust system to replace my stock exhaust that’s rusted out. This means I do t want to hear any drone noise inside the cab or any noise louder than the stock system. I’d appreciate any advice.

Sounds like you want a stock system.

Not at the price I was quoted at the dealer. I found BRexhaust and Walker for half the price but don’t know much about them. Friends of mine have MagnaFlow and Borla on different brand trucks but they are loud.

You’ll get what you pay for. No budget system will come close to being as good/quiet. Just my opinion.

I have a stock exhaust system sitting in my yard - but I bet we aren’t close since you’re having rust issues.

Search Facebook marketplace, Craigslist and local scrap yards for a stock muffler section. I swear 07-13 mufflers are longer and quieter than what came on 2014-2021 trucks (TRD exhaust excluded), but I may be blowing smoke on that one.

If you want more a Dirty Deeds Helmholtz resonator on a stock exhaust is extremely quiet.

Another vote for searching for a gently used stock exhaust. That said, the closest I've found to a stock exhaust sound on other vehicles is a Walker Quiet-Flow SS. It breathed much better than the stock exhaust and got better MPG and power (measured by the butt dyno) with minimal sound difference. I don't know how they would sound or perform on a tundra, though.

I can build that for you. With over 100 options, it’s easy.

but I may also have a stock juggler laying around.

A stock muffler with a @dirtydeeds resonator would almost be as quiet as a Tesla..:eek2::thumbsup:

I’m sure a local muffler shop can replace the rotted out sections for a fraction of the cost.

Facebook marketplace, Craigslist and local junk yards are another great solution.

It’s pretty much all induction noise now. Still sounds like a Toyota UR V8 but very tame.

I've had 3 lengths of @dirtydeeds mufflers and 2 lengths of Keith's resonator.
The stock muffler has some drone.
I've never ran a stock muffler with his rez, but I'd imagine it would be very quiet.

I had a Magnaflow with the drone from hell when I found Keith.
He suggested first trying his rez and see what happens.
It knocked the drone back below stock, but also took the sound back to stock.
I then ordered his 8" and ran it for 4 years.
The sweet spot for me is his 10" BAM with the rez, but that would be too loud for the OP....

Measure the cabin resonance with a microphone and find out where the stock exhaust drones. Then it's simple math to find out what length resonator would be needed. I made simple cheat sheet for that if you really wanna know :)

I was kinda joking, but kinda not.
    I tried Keith's 12" BAM with both his standard-length and extended-length resonators.

The 12 " with the standard length had a little more drone than the 10".
He sent me an extended-length rez and it made the truck quiet as stock, but with less drone.

I found the 10" BAM with the standard rez the perfect setup..

I have a stock RCSB and the stock muffler needs to be replaced. I will replace with stock.
Way too old for hot rod noise. In the backcountry last thing I want to hear is this truck making
more noise than it should. But pretty sure I don't want to spend on a full aftermarket system

Leave the stock muffler and install one of Keith's standard resonators...

I had a Magnaflow with the drone from hell when I first found Keith.
He suggested trying his resonator with what I had.
It killed the drone but made the Magnaflow sound like a stock muffler.

I then bought his 6" and ran it a couple of years.
Found it too loud and he swapped it for 10.

The 12" is a long story, but the 10" with the resonator is the sweet spot for me.
Probably not for you if you want it quiet..

I'll look at his site and see what he has. I haven't looked at price for new one. There is a wreck at the yard, it has been
there longer than on the road. I forgot to check that muffler, but the truck was sure clean

The stock muffler only sound is drone. If you want to silence that…. Our resonator does this. Call tho and I’ll get into greater detail. 760-877-4234

Hey Keith, I've got your 12" standard system with res. Love the sound, just curious how would you describe the 12" without the res?

Sorry for the derail OP :D

Best descriptions without resonator. Drone. You only hear that at cruise.

same amount of sound when gunning it.

Does the 5.7 have an RPM area drone? Way back when my old 302 ran like a sewing machine at 3000 RPM, it wasn't nice
thru 2500. But this honestly might sound weird, is my first automatic. So I haven't really noticed a drone per se. The resonator
doesn't cut into the tailpipe, it's just a harmonic balancer essentially?
