New member. My husband went to Best Buy to have a dash cam installed well needless to say he is not sure what they may have attached or cut but now his truck will not start. What could have caused this besides the obvious of using Best Buy!!

They tapped into the ignition circuit. The fuse box is under the hood. Start there. Make sure you have the tech
from Best Buy there to show what he did. He may have forgotten to install the fuse back. I'm suspecting the camera uses a fuse jumper and that's where the problem is most likely. BTW does the camera come on with the key, without starting the truck?

I have nothing to add. Sorry. But I’m definitely watching this thread to see what the cause is. Good luck and I hope it’s nothing major.

I'm thinking stupidity on the part of a best buy person.

Seems very possible to blame the Best Buy tech. But I definitely need more info. Like what year truck the tundra is. The newer the model the more electronics to mess up.

I'm used to dash cams being stand alone. Things get a bit vague when they integrate into existing systems. Why I usually
have degrees of separation on my rigs.

After market alarm was installed which was stripped so another wire that he installed made contact with that wire causing the problem.

So it was simple thank goodness. Still a blundering Best Buy tech. Glad things weren’t so detrimental.
