Banks is proud to announce the iDash Stealth Pod for the 2014-2021 Tundra. iDash Stealth Pods are direct-fit gauge mounts that affix to your late 2nd gen Toyota Tundra factory SRS bolt location, concealing wires for a factory look. You now have no excuse not to install an iDash, the most powerful compact gauge on the market. It displays everything your dashboard doesn't. It trumps Scan Gauge and all others in both data and ease of use. And, the iDash allows you to control and monitor the PedalMonster throttle controller on-the-fly.

We have a ton of 2022-24 owners using the iDash with great success. Now it's time to share the iDash with 2nd Gen owners. Here's an example of what you can monitor on your 2nd Gen. You can also set up alerts for any parameter. If you're interested, hit me up. Happy to hook up the first few with a great deal.

I don’t see transmission temp on the list. Is that something we can get available?

Is there a mounting option for those of us who have installed a stock OEM grab handle to the pillar on our 2014 - 2021 Tundras?

I used the iDash on my ZL1 and it's great.

    Are you sure about that...?

Not that I'm aware of... Pretty disappointed and have been thinking of switching to a Scan Gauge or other device just for this reason. I should've researched that more before purchasing :frusty:

The very reason I returned my iDash and went with the SG3. Although the iDash is pretty slick, the SG3 gave me more bang for buck... and it's also very easy to use.

If scan gauge can see that parameter then iDash should be able to.

Transmission temp will indeed be available in the near future.

We didn't actually drop the ball. We've been hard at work on the forthcoming iDash Pro. This new iDash has more memory and will support the addition of new PIDs, namely much-needed Toyota PIDs. We expect to release the new iDash this December. Those who own the current iDash and want the additional PIDs will be given special pricing to assist in the upgrade.

For those who need Trans Temp, it will be available on the forthcoming iDash Pro. The current iDash will not support additional PIDs as it's at its memory limit. So, we were forced to revise the design. There are a number of people, including you, that will be given preferential treatment in order to segue to the new iDash Pro.

I did the exact same thing, I was hoping that the update wouldn't take that long, seemed like it got updates every 3 months or so. Kinda bummed that the support was lacking. No updates since 12/22.

Definitely the route I'm going if I get the iDash pro. Even though I'm getting a tesla screen that I can link an OBD reader to.

Also the scan guage I'm not a fan because there is no sleek way to mount it.

Let me get this straight; I'll need to buy another iDash when the Pro is released to get trans temp readings?

    Does Apple own Banks?

If I'm forced to buy another device why wouldn't I just get the Scan Gauge?

I have two of these things ( one primary and one secondary) and I’ve been through all the settings and I’ve been on the phone with Banks representatives but for some odd reason I can’t get pressure reading

    Yeah that too !
I can’t find it. I’m reading it on my head unit but it would seem like it should be in the IDash as well

Great questions. The issue that we ran into not long ago turned out to be insufficient memory. When our engineering team attempted to add more PIDs, the system crashed during compiling. In other words, there's no room left for additional functionality. Not even for trans temp. After this discovery, we moved up the release date of the new iDash. While I can't divulge all of the new features and advancements, I can say that it will display trans temp. We know many Tundra drivers who own the current iDash, expected to see Trans Temp eventually. And, we know that forcing them to upgrade leads to a potential PR nightmare. We are creating a path to upgrade with this in mind. There will either be incentives or a very attractive buy-back program. We with this weren't the case. We had intended to fully support the Tundra and other vehicles with the current iDash. However, it's just not physically possible. We expect some will opt to keep their existing iDash to use as an expansion gauge. Many of our Duramax owners use two gauges to see more PIDs at a glance. Let me be clear: this is not a way to milk customers for more money. I have witnessed the complications with adding data to the current iDash with my own eyes. The silver lining is that the new iDash offers quite a bit more than the current unit, both in hardware and firmware, allowing for rapid expansion.

Love the location. Did you cap off the airflow so the air is re-directed to other vents or does the air flow around the iDash? I see that someone is selling a vent gauge pod on Amazon. Is that what you used?

Long time no see Jay. :) Quick question....another member on here is experience intermittent issues where his second device on the splitter doesn't power up. I don't remember what the 2nd device was but I think it was the Scan Gauge 3 as well. Any idea what would cause that? Mine was doing it quite ofter and I would have to unplug from the OBD port to.reconnect. Knock on wood I haven't had the issue in a while.

Most ECMs will not communicate with two OBD devices simultaneously. They will favor one or the other, and they may not favor with any consistency. One day the ECM may favor one device, and the other day it may favor another. When the iDash does not see a response from the ECM, it stays asleep, which is probably what's happening. I'm not sure why someone would run two OBD gauges at the same time...

As for the vent mount, air goes around the iDash. There are a couple of members here that have it. By the way I'll be ordering another standalone Pedal Monster soon.

I will look but I do beleive he has the same setup as I do which is the standalone Pedal Monster running "No OBD" mode and the Scan Gauge 3.

We may make our own version of this vent mount. It's a great idea. Regarding your Scan Gauge mount, when the new iDash is released, it will obsolete the Scan Guage. So, you'll have to find a new device to attach that mount. :)

I get that and truly appreciate the feedback.

It just frustrates me that Banks didn't prioritize Trans Temp with the initial roll out as there are several other parameters that I would argue are less important to most drivers that could've been omitted.

I have the Pedal Monster, after ditching the Pedal Commander, and the iDash and have been pleased overall with both. I had a LBZ 2500HD years back fully built with Banks products that greatly influenced my decision to go with Banks on the Tundra. Let's hope the option for existing iDash owners to upgrade is reasonable and worth the wait.
