Horrible MPG on my 24

Make sure your settings are correct. There is a screen on the dash computer for Average, Per trip or Per Tank. Set it to average, then reset your calculations. See if it goes back to normal. I have 34" tires and consistently get 15-16 on average.

 

I don't warm mine up at all. Drive like I stole it. Average 17.5-18 in Atlanta Stop and Go traffic. These trucks get better mileage as they get some miles on 'em, unless you do something like add a lift and big azz tires that poke out. But seriously if you bought a truck for good gas mileage you should sell it and buy a Prius.

 

That's actually exactly what will happen.
Happens daily for me. But, if I warm up/idle for 5 min, then drive 30 min, then my display will read the normal 14/15/16 that I "average" when I shut the engine off.

 

Maybe the brakes are dragging a bit?

 

I get around 17.5 to 18mpg around town and 21.5 to 22mpg highway on my 1794 Limited Edition with stock suspension and tires.

At my age I'm never in a hurry and drive pretty easy and at the posted speed limit or a few miles above.

 

My dash readout is pretty much on the money. Actually the differences between that and hand calculated are in the position of the vehicle when filling and the speed of the gas coming out, aka how full I get my tank. Average is about equal.

 

*UPDATE*
Just picked up the truck from the service dept at 59718. I got my 2nd key fob today so when I took it in I told them about the front camera going bad (stopped working first week of ownership) and also asked about my MPG. The service manager said that they checked for codes and TSB and found nothing related to my new 2024 Toyota truck getting worse MPG than my grandpas ol 1977 Dodge Ram.
