Anybody ever been pulled over for being over the legal width? Asking for a friend.

No way you're over. But if you're worried about it, strategically placed amber and red clearance lights would make you legal

Maximum legal width in Texas is 102" I have a widget I need to get to my job site that is 120"x168". Tempted to send it, but I should probably cut it down and re weld on site.

The truck and trailer are actually wider that what's legal too, but that kinda thing is overlooked around here. Sus AF to have 18" hanging over the side though

    Can't stand it up?
If you put a red flag or rag on the sides you should be fine. Technically that red flag law pertains to stuff hanging off the back over 3 or 4 feet IIRC, but I say send it. Any cop worth a damn should see your effort and leave you alone.

Back when I had my 03 DC Tacoma I had to use a red rag to haul stuff often. Short bed problems.

I did consider standing it up, but honestly cutting and re welding would be easier. Might just be a Sunday afternoon send.

Not sure on width, but they are semi flexible on length…..

My tires are down to 6/32nds. At what point do you all typically replace? They are loud, and no longer great in the rain. But I don't put that many miles on the truck so I could delay this longer

I'd just run it, and if you get pulled, claim dyslexia. "I swore it said 120, but you're saying it's 102? Dude, I'm ashamed to admit it because I've been struggling all my life, but I'm dyslexic, I totally read it as 120..."

If they make you nervous on rain or off-road it's time.
I'm going to need to replace my street tires on the 03 soon-ish. Probably in the second quarter of 2025. It's been at Toy Lex for four weeks tomorrow, to regear the rear to 4.10's and replace the worn OEM LSD with a TrueTrac. Since my 06 took 6 weeks to re-gear from the previous fucked up re-gear, I imagine I'll be hearing from Juan by Monday. At least I'm hoping so. I can't wait to see how it feels with the new goodies. Plus Brandon from Quantum Auto Tuning reached out to me a few weeks back and said he finally cracked my ECU's Cal ID. So I should have a new tuned ECU to stick in there soon. It'll need an inspection/registration in January. But Texas allows you to do the inspection up to 90 days prior to registration. So I'll get it inspected ASAP, then swap the ECU. The new ECU will disable the rear O2 sensor monitors and won't pass emissions inspection.

That's what I was thinking about doing with mine once I get it back and rotate the better tires to the front. That way I'll only have to replace two at a time. Unless Discount Tire runs a sale on a full set soonish

I'm running their Pathfinder AT for 2 years now and they are wearing well with good snow traction.

I replace a little earlier than most. Idk at what depth, but usually with some decent tread on them so I can recoup money from the next set haha

This was a fun watch. Spoiler: Squirrels were stuffing nuts in the timing cover, TB jumped time, acorn shit stuck in grooves. Truck cranked, fuel pumped. spark fired, but no start.

This person doesn't normally work on Toyota, but still enjoyed the watch.

If I wasn't spending most of the weekend in Houston for work I would be in that area this weekend visiting the daughter. Beautiful up there. LOTS of great mountain biking.

Right. I suppose they've been good at 100+ degrees outside too, but I havent tested them in humidity....!

Anyways, put them ofter running Toyota AT2s prior and am happy with them.

I remember back in the early 2000s I had a set of middle road tires "siped". They had screwed up with getting the car done when they said so they offered us that for our troubles. Those tires were the best I've ever had in wet and snow, and great in dry. They seemed to wear a lot slower too. They made little squeaky sounds you could hear when slow rolling.
I think It was Discount tire... I don't think they do it anymore.

I always find the chatter around this guy "Joe Joe" who sells purportedly factory parts on the FB groups interesting (works at a dealership in Cali, I guess). Like, none of the prices I've seen on people's receipts look better than what I pay through conventional means. But seems like 1 out of 20 people have a bad experience, which gets scrubbed quickly, so others don't hear about it. Mindboggling. I guess this is what happens when you buy from internet strangers who use joker/clown faces as their identity. You'd think people would learn but nope. And based on what another moderator posted, he's the one deleting the posts that say anything critical about it. What a joke! Anyway, PSA: Warn everyone you know, this guy apparently really is a clown.

I actually know that Ben Allison guy and in no way shape or form would he throw out something like that unless it really happened. Joe Joe has a “business” and you have to contact him within his business hours, yet he doesn’t have a business page. The fact that people buy from him is mind boggling. Zero business model. Zero accountability. If you breathe on him the wrong way he’ll delete your posts or screen shot private messages for his group and publicly post it. In what f***ing world would any of his actions be tolerated in any normal business. I even saw something recently about getting charged a restocking fee on back ordered parts, but wasn’t notified of the back order before taking payment. Every time I open Facebook I swear I see an issue with him.

I have bought parts from "Joe Joe" on multiple occasions. I haven't had a bad experience as of yet, after learning of other dealer discounts from this page I'll most likely not use him. I did share the most recent discount that Serra Toyota was offering on one of the Facebook groups. He chimed in stating that he offers a lifetime warranty on the LBJ and other suspension parts. I told him that good to know since I bought my LBJ from him. I almost want to make a claim.

I don't FB outside of marketplace and even I know JoeJoe is a scam artist.

If it was Spring or early summer I'd tell you to run them for a while longer. I waited a long time to replace my tires this summer because I knew I wasn't going to see snow/ice/shush. How many 32nds did they come with?

The Nokian tires we put on my mom's car had this awesome wear percentage gauge built into the tread:
    Driving-Safety-Indicator-dsi-Nokian-eNTYRE2-720px.png

    Wish all tires had this.

Car tires i run them down to the wear bars. For any of my truck tires, i sell them once they reach about 50%, then i buy a new set.
