I’m looking at a used 24 Tundra either gas or hybrid. Is there a production date that I should be past where Toyo fixed the engine issues?

    thanks.

Not sure anyone except Toyota knows this for certain.

Supposedly sometime in February 2023 but the above is the most accurate answer.

    Lots of stuff!
I think there have a been some failures past Feb 2023 but those seem to be much less and more inline with random failures as expected with mass produced things.

You are probably going to be okay and your extended warranty will keep you protected for the duration of the term.

Just make sure to keep up with your maintenance and records so they can't deny you later on.

And that there is the scary part because they issued the recall for specific date range. If they don't know then how can they set a valid date range?

There are failures after the part number changes.

    Hmmmmm

I watched his video. It was the #1 cam bearing and just another part if I recall. And those changes were April of this year also.

This is getting a little nerve racking. I am 3 weeks into a 22 Limited and was originally looking to go vintage V8 model, until I took this for a test drive at the dealership. I fell in love with it. I have always had faith in Toyota trucks, owned several and worked on many back in the day. They have a solid product. I'm really shocked they haven't figured this out yet.

#1 MAIN bearing, not cam bearing.

#1 and #4 main bearings changed.

I knew main, and typed cam. I actually did it right here again and just corrected it. Getting old sucks. The mind just warps things. I'm glad to be old and have an excuse, now! LoL
