Tundra limited 2024 stuck in mud

    I need help I switched from F150 to tundra. I got stuck in mud and had to be rescued by jeep. I tried to rick the truck but the gas didn’t work correctly. Also the tires would slip even when I used 4 low, 4high and traction off. I used dimond plate and blasting mud recovery and could not get out. Never had that problem with my old F150. Toyota service said that I have fancy tires. Any ideas. Thx

    Not sure what you're asking but there are too many variables when it comes to mud. Street tires aren't going to do anything in mud, no lugs to get traction and no voids in the tread to spit the mud out. Standard diamond plate isn't going to do anything, too slick and the "Diamonds" aren't raised enough to do anything. Depending on the depth of the mud you could have dug down enough to be on sitting the axles. Not sure what trim level you have but did you try the locker if you have one? Did you try crawl control?
    Biggest thing is street tires in mud just aren't going to cut it.
    My suggestion is to upgrade your tires, get a winch and learn how to use it, stay out of the mud and if none of that works go back to Ford.

    Unless you get the TRD OR package, you don’t get MTS, crawl control or lockers. But mud is mud. Dont matter what brand your truck is, all the variables still apply. Mostly tires, then 4wd system type and ground clearance. Driver is also a wild card. If you’re on stock tires, wet grass can get you stuck.

    If you are stepping on it and the tires spin, the traction control is probably kicking and stopping that. That probably explains the gas pedal behavior.

    If you put it in 4L and have TRD Offroad you can lock the rear differential as mentioned above. You should be able to walk out of most situations with that locked.

    My biggest question is what did connect tow lines to?

    I have limited not TRD no crawl function. I was about 3 inches in mud. The truck does have street tires. I had it in 4low and according to manual it should have traction off.
    I got the jeep to back to the tundra around 50 ft away. Hooked to my hitch then I backed up. Since then I install front hooks which might damage the front wind deflector and bumper if they are used but it will be better than nothing. what do you guys recommend for tire replacement that isn’t noisy. Since then I have been very careful where to drive lol.

    Lots of stuff!
    Tire choices are many.

    There is a tire thread that has tons of info and lots of reading.

    BFG K02 K03
    Toyo At3
    Falken At3w
    Cooper
    And many more.

    These will all be good choices.

    Lots of things to consider like wheels and offsets and how aggressive you want.

    Weight is a big factor with these trucks so bigger heavier tires will consume more fuel.

    bigger tires will need more room or they can rub.

    Wait though, what were you doing in the mud with street tires? Did the F150 have street tires?

    Did you air down? I find 15 psi to be a good compromise, until you get back on the highway. Also there is supposed to be an auto ~ locking feature you can engage by tapping the brakes.
