Why can't I find a replacement air intake hose for my 2000 sr5 v6 tundra?

17881-62140 discontinued by Toyota like a number of early FGT parts. May want to search wrecking yards. Might also be able to adapt the Dorman part for several years.

Dorman has a decent repop, as I recall. I just had to drop one in a 3rd gen civic. That said, junkyard is your friend. That engine was used in a wild array of Toyotas, including the Highlander and 4Runner, maybe Sienna if I’m not mistaken?

I don't thing the 3.4 was ever used in a FWD platform -- only 4WD & RWD trucks and SUVs (probably some RWD cars outside North America) My '03 Sienna had a 3.0 VVT.

@Corey77 I know the 3.4 was widely used in the Tacoma, and 4Runner -- in fact it's rare to find a 3rd Gen 4Runner ('96-'02) without the 3.4. You'd have to do a little research to see if the air intake on those vehicles is the same as your Tundra. When I had a 4Runner I was a member of 4runners.com and there was always someone parting out a vehicle. I just looked, and there are two being parted out there now. Again, do your research because I don't know for sure if the intakes are the same.

Or you can get an aftermarket modular tube like what @455h0le_dachshund suggested here...

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/supercharg-5vz-or-2uz-swap.150701/#post-3759756

I have my stock airbox from my 3.4 that has the stock tube that I'll most likely not use because I want to buy the Airaid modular tube. If you verify the fitment between my Tacoma and your Tundra, I can sell you mine. My guess is it should fit. Alternatively, I'd check junkyards or OfferUp/FB marketplace. I just found a couple on OfferUp local to me. They are out there, you just gotta hunt them down.

I think the air box is different on tundra, but I think the hose is identical on all 5vz engines

Just snapped a couple pictures of mine from my rebuild. Looks almost the same from OPs pic except for one end..
    20241124_070833.jpg 20241124_070907.jpg

And part numbers of each piece..

OP, @Corey77 if your local to So Cal, we can test fit and work out a deal. Like I said, I'm looking to put that modular tube on mine.

Hopefully it'll work for OP, if he even comes back. That was his first and only post.

Only difference I see is where it connects to the TB but that shouldn't prevent it from working.

I have the OEM intake tube for my 06 2uz if that helps. I don't need it. Would trade for a Philly cheese steak sammich or beer. :D
