Mid-grade gasoline and no additive is what I've always used.

Ethanol free fuel is my choice. If I add anything it's just a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner.

What are you folks using the additives for? I use marine stabilizer in any fuel I store, but don’t add anything special to my vehicles that I drive daily (just 87 octane, <10% ethanol from the pump). Not criticizing; curious what your use case is.

Top Tier gasolines already have additive packages.
If you're burning good fuel, nothing additional is really necessary.

I do treat my wife's higher mileage RAV4 to the occasional bottle of Lucas Injector Cleaner, but only because that one sees ethanol fuel, and likely only for peace of mind.

Like already stated above, if you are buying your gas from reputable places, there are already cleaning additives in your gas and you don't need to add anything. There are some things you can do to make sure you are getting good gas. First, try to go to the same place as often as possible. Second, if you can find a place that sells top tier fuel, get it there (they label it on the pump). Third, get gas at a busy place. The more often they have to fill their storage tanks, the newer the gas and generally it that should reduce sediments and contaminants.

Being overprotective of my cars, I admit I add a bottle of Techron to the tank at each oil change, but I'm probably wasting money doing that. I've done it since the 80's and it's just a habit now.

If it's going in storage I'll dump a lil Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel tank.

Great advice... And DONT fuel if you see the tanker anywhere near the gas station, when they fill the storage tanks they stir up all kinda nastiness.

Ethanol free 91 octane gas, if they have it in your area. There's some good youtube videos that show how clean ethanol-free burns. Ethanol gasoline makes a yellow/orange flame, ethanol-free burns light blue.

    It's expensive though.

As said, try to find a Top Tier gas station, Costco fuel is Top Tier, that's what I use.

If you run through a tank of gas a month or faster, nothing.

If your truck sits for weeks on end before use, just get ethenol free and don't worry about it.

This is true as well. Ethanol free gas is definitely better if it's available but not really beneficial if you are burning through it. Around me there is no ethanol free fuel available but I do own a carbureted motorcycle that ethanol can be detrimental to when it's been sitting in the carburetors over winter so the combat that I use 93 octane in it since Even though the 93 still has ethanol in it It's shelf life is longer than 87.

That’s pretty weird. When we went from 116 octane race gas to methanol, our exhaust flame went pure orange to pure blue.

Here's my addition (and I may be biased since I work for Chevron!): In my opinion, Chevron's fuel formula is the best in the industry, and it includes Techron. About 30 years ago, a research PhD from Shell shared this with me and also recommended sticking with the same fuel brand, advice I've followed ever since. Over the years, I've heard similar feedback from mechanics, who have told me that when they open up an engine that’s run on Chevron fuel, they can visibly see the positive difference.

Don’t they run filters at the pumps in your area? My local stations do, and the filters are serviced regularly.

If so I have never actually seen them replace or clean them. I know the department of agriculture tests to make sure they put out what they say they do, but I think that's about it.

I've heard this for a million years but have never heard of any instance where this has actually caused a problem. I can't imagine that the tanks would have contaminates that wouldn't be filtered out at the pump hose.
