One positive of my motor fail is Sniv's pulley will finally go on. Do I need a smaller belt to go down 1mm?

2.299213" is what I currently have on there.

You shouldn't need a different belt size for 1mm pulley difference. On a related note, my belt was shredded on Monday and now I get to replace a front crank seal...Ho Ho Ho!

    Thanks/sorry, no fun.

Thanks to the BMW, I have about 7 belts in my garage, what is the right belt #? (I also have a stock belt & at least 2 of the ones that are on the Tree).

I remembered I have the Jowett filter housing I need them to move over/they need the tool (gotta remember to get it back) and I have had a trans filter, gasket & Amsoil ATF sitting here for 2+ years, gonna get that done while it's there.

I was fully expecting to see it had knocked out my oil pressure sensor, or some kind of major damage, but I thought I got lucky. It wasn't until I was warming up the truck and making sure the new belt was tracking straight that I noticed the drip from behind the crank pulley. There was a rats nest of shredded belt crammed behind there I had removed, but that must have damaged it.

oddball belts & valves, we are the guild of negative lottery winners.

My only solace is getting all this maintenance stuff done/getting the pulley/solid motor mounts/misc crap done, I hope to be 200k+ solid now

Same, I have 5 belts that I will likely never use, but have minimal wear. My garage is looking like a poorly managed parts shop.

I've been having issues with the belts walking off the alternator pulley after the tensioner. I replaced the alternator a while back and forgot one of the ring/pins (90253-13017) that install in the front two mounting holes of the alternator, so mine was off just enough to have an alignment issue.

I went to storage to get my stock alternator and stock pulleys, fully expecting to return them to stock one-by-one until the belt issue was resolved when I found the part was still installed in the stock alternator. I reinstalled my DC Power alternator with both pins, torqued everything down to spec, installed a new Toyota belt tensioner, and a new belt.

Mine was a seized idler pulley and the edge of the belt caught the compressor clutch. I had another green belt just parted and snapped across the ribs.

I wasn't happy with the oil filter housing/adapter setup for my oil cooler project, so I put it on hold until I came up with another solution. I had purchased this housing a while back for the same project, and with the adapter installed, I just wasn't comfortable hanging all that weight off the timing cover. This morning I cut off the filter housing and left as much of the feed/return tubes as I could. It turned out that the inner diameter is 11/16", which is perfect for tapping -8AN ORB fittings, and there is enough material as well as enough space between the ports. I've ordered a tap and chamfering bit to make this happen. I already have 8AN ORB hose ends for 10AN hose, so I should be able to get it all assembled now that I have a better solution for the engine to remote filter mount.

    upload_2024-12-25_13-53-2.jpg

After cut-off wheel, Sawzall, and filing I ended up with this. I still need to sand/polish the port mounting surfaces, and will likely cut down that bottom mounting boss to be the same level as the other mounting points, or just cut it off all together.

This is great! Having it tapped and going to the remote filter is sweet. Definitely send some measurements and the finished product. Better than trying to buy and install the RcF filter/cooler setup! I don't like having the filter by the sway bar with the baxter adapter...

    Many on the way.
Bore this passage out to full diameter, the 5.7 doesn’t have this restrictor. Not sure why the 4.6 does.. maybe the smaller filter.

I fly out Friday, seller is holding it for me or so they say. I Had to work last weekend and yesterday and am at work right now, but that's life working in healthcare.

Hopefully the passes aren't too bad on Friday but I lived nearly 15 years in Colorado so I'm used to snowy icy mountain passes.

Well the seller reneged on the agreed-on deal so no S/C'd Tundra for me. I might get a regular one and then I'll have to add a S/C later.
