I have a 2006 double cab that supposedly had port installed keyless entry, but when I bought it, there were no remotes. I've been unable to locate remotes with a matching FCC ID number (Even through a dealer). I'd like to attempt to install an aftermarket keyless entry system, and I think I can if I can find the wires that control the lock and unlock function. Does anyone know what color those wires are?

Port or Factory? Is your truck an X-SP, Lucchese, or similar regional package?

Have you looked under the dash for an alarm brain, and do you have any LED lights under the driver side of the dash or mounted anywhere on the dash?

All the key info most people need is in this community information thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

    See they "Keys..." section.

Since you have a DC, you'll need to figure out which programming mode works for your truck. Note that you MUST get the cadence correct when following the two different instructions. It nearly always takes me 2-3 tries to get it just right, and I have to stop my self and count 'one-one-thousand' between each step.

The answers to the questions above will help someone tell you what remote to use. If there are no LED lights under the dash and no evidence of a ported/regional package brain, you'll probably use the standard BAB237131-056 remote, not the ELVATDD (or whatever) remote some of the ported/regional systems used.

EDIT only for reference for the DC trucks. Note the 1st is what I see regional package trucks using, and the righthand one is the standard RS3200 remote. I do have a couple of the RS3200 that have a tiny circular LED also.

My 2006 DC did not use the BAB237131-056 remote (part number 08191-00922) even though entering the VIN into the autoparts toyota site said it would. That's the RS3200 remote I think. In the end, I had to get one with the one with FCC ID HYQ12BBX (part number 89742-0C020). That uses a different pairing sequence found in the megathread. Search for this text " 'special' programming instructions for some Double Cab".
There is also a picture the 'correct' Double Cab remote in the 2006 Owners manual. Not the same as the access cab one. Notice no LED on the Double Cab. Guess I need to sell the RS3200 remote when I can get round to it!

ETA- My BAB237131-056 remote (that is to say, the remote with that FCC ID on the back) has the LED and looks like the one on the right below.

FWIW, I have both remotes you just listed (BAB237131-056, HYQ12BBX) and both are currently programmed and working for my AC which has the RS3200 system.

I'm not sure wha it means exactly, except to say ... there may be some variations.

Maybe I can get the -056 to pair after all? Or maybe it's just a slightly different system on yours. I do know the RS3200 instructions did not work for me, the one where you keep opening and closing the door, remove and insert key etc.
The one that worked for me were the Double Cab specific ones where you toggle the door lock 5 times, close and open the door, do the lock 5 times again etc. It's POSSIBLE that with all the times I tried it with the -056 remote, I had finally got it down and then nailed it the first first time with the BBX remote. Though I don't think I am that lucky. The Double Cab instructions were definitely the simplest (to me at least) of the different versions.

I'd honestly try to pair it, if you have it in your hand. Those two remote IDs were used across a wild array of car models using various keyless systems, TVIPS (RSxxxx) included. I've posted pics of all 4 of my remotes in another thread. All 4 were working with my truck at some point. I bought a bunch of used ones to dick around back when I got the truck. It only came with 1 remote and that's not a gamble I wanted to play.

I hate trying to get into programming mode. Next time, I'm going to see if my OBDlink MX+ will let me get into the system and add remotes. If not, I'm going to use the Techstream VM you can readily download online in some questionable places.

So, what's under my dash was apparently made by Nutek(?) and was not factory installed, but was installed by SouthEast Toyota in Jacksonville (at the port). That information was obtained through a service manager at a Toyota dealership. What's under the dash is labeled "MPX module part number 00016–0C050–01" and has an FCC ID of ELVAR1A (pictured below). After multiple attempts to find a remote with that FCC ID, E dealer got me what he thought would work, which was the first two button remote, pictured in shifty original response, which shows an FCC ID of ELVATRF, which is close to the FCC ID on the MPX module, But not identical. Thus far, I've not been able to get it to link up or get the truck into program mode.

I believe the FCC IDs have to match. ELVAR1A is 433.0 MHz and ELVATRF is 433.92 MHz. Finding that FOB may be difficult. You might however find a newer receiver box that works. These port installed units were made by Nutek and sold under Audiovox name.

According to which aftermarket you choose, would somewhat determine which wire colors and location they choose. Knowing the aftermarket will help in determining which connector/splice points they wish to use. With that info the 2006 EWD can be utilized as far as connectors and colors to be used.

While the attached Southeast Toyota Keyless entry pdf says it's for 2005, according to the 2006 EWD the same connectors and wire colors mentioned are the same for your 2006.

So it was port by SET! I thought they typically installed the SECURIKEY+ system, maybe that's GST (Gulf States Toyota out of Houston). Bubba got you covered on info you need. I can get the SECURIKEY info too if it's interesting but not sure it's applicable.

Anyway, everyone above said most of it. I'll just add: Solely based on what I've seen from others with SET trucks using aftermarket crap on trucks that already had keyless from the factory, the remote used was the ELVATDD, which is 433 Mhz, I believe, don't quote me on that. There are a gaggle of ELVATxx remotes, with variable final two digits. FCC info above should help isolate specs on remote, I'm checking it out now.

Curious ... Is your truck an X-SP?

Here you go. Indeed, ELVATDD should be your go-to:

Thank you, All. I really appreciate all of your feedback & will let you know if anything works.

And my truck is not an X-SP. It is an SR5.
