Im still fighting the TPMS system in my Truck. It's been almost 4 years now.

I just bought brand new OEM TPMS Sensors (42607-0c070) and, while still brand new in their box attempted to register them using Techstream in the truck.

I did this for my 2014 Scion tC and after registering could see they have 0.0 PSI/60* fahrenheit and the TPMS light stays on as the system thinks I have a flat.

    -
No such luck with my truck. All 4 tires read -58 degrees and some negative pressures and after roughly 30 minutes of driving the TPMS light comes back on.

I've also replaced the antenna in the roof with no luck. So now I am thinking the TPMS computer might be bad.

897690C022 is the part number and its pretty cheap ($60) but I have no idea where it is to replace it.

If anyone knows its location, please let me know so I can swap it out and try to get my TPMS running prior to my camping trip in Jan.

Antenna box under the roof liner is the TPMS computer.

Install your new sensors. Reset TPMS codes or disconnect the battery. TPMS won't go into ID learning with active codes, I think. At least, I was not able to proceed until the codes were cleared. Turn off the truck or leave it with battery disconnected and wait for 15 minutes, this is important. Turn the key into II position, the last one before engine is started, and press the TPMS reset button located by your right knee 3 times within 3 seconds. It will say TPMS calibration, you can start the truck and drive for about 10-30 minutes, taking a few left and right turns. Truck will relearn IDs of TPMS sensors.

So there are no other TPMS components other than the antenna and the (4) TPMS sensors? I was really thinking it was talking with some sort of computer other than the ECU.

Mine is a 2007, so I don't have a display that states "TPMS Calibration". My light simply goes off. When monitoring via TechStream while driving, no values pop in. The light just turns on and starts flashing.

How do I "reset the codes"? When entering via techstream I have to put some value in. I don't think a battery reset erases codes as I just replaced my battery after it blew a cell and went 100% dead. Old TPMS ID's were still in techstream. Are you just saying re-enter the ID's to get the light to clear and the antenna is "searching" for them?

TPMS antenna is the TPMS computer. Look at the board here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/tpms-antenna-repair-attempt.149836 It is not just the antenna (barrel), it has a microprocessor and other chips.

I don't have an active TS, can't look at how to reset codes there. I reset it with OBD Fusion + paid Toyota block. Battery disconnect will reset all non-permanent codes in all modules. No need to reenter IDs, your truck should be able to relearn IDs on its own. Though I'm not 100% firm here, since it is gen 2, not 2.5. But if you can confirm in TS there's a PID called "Audo ID Registration for Running Wheel" then it can do the relearn.

When the light stops flashing, what happens if you press the reset button 3 times quickly?

Here's the diagram for floor shifter. Basically identical for column shifter. It's behind the glovebox and easy to get to.

Absolutely nothing. Solid light - press three times - nothing.

I even held it for a few seconds - nothing.

Ok. The next step is to reset to TPMS codes. Or disconnect battery for a few minutes.

Done. I had to replace my HID wiring harness/relay yesterday. Truck had battery pulled for 40 minutes before I put it back in and connected.

Truck has not been started since then. I just pushed it back into its parking spot.

    Next steps?

I read through the TPMS section of 2011 Sequoia Repair Manual (the official Toyota one) and it does not mention automatic ID registration anywhere. Looks like on Gen2 you have to register ID by hands using Techstream or other device like Autel that can do that.

Ok, that's good (that you have a TS). What codes did you read? We can go there based on codes. The manual has step by step instructions :)

That's where I have difficulty. I have reinstalled and done troubleshooting on my techstream, but I get an unknown error when trying to view the trouble codes.

I guess I need to find a newer version maybe.

Ok, I am trying one thing before replacing the computer.

I took the TPMS antenna out and put it in the oven at 375 for 6 minutes in an attempt to "reflow" the solder. I will put it back in tomorrow. Otherwise, I am pretty sure it is the TPMS ECU/Computer as I get NOTHING in techstream on any of the (4) TPMS sensors. Its like the ECU is just dead.

    I'm buying this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285880233390

    Part: 89769-0C022

I believe this is what is mounted under the dash in the schematic above.
