    Anybody here a Toyota tech?

where I’m from in Canada the stealing has gotten out of hand. I’m looking into glass breaking sensor. As the thief’s are popping a window out to get inside before they take off.

I noticed the 21’ tundras have a Toyota part number of

pt398-34142. That fits to a loose connector behind the dash to integrate with the stock alarm.

I’m hoping someone’s either done this with their 3rd gen or can tell me if the same 8 pin connector is behind the left kick panel.

    Thanks in advance.

There are a few kits. Just be aware that if it modifys any wiring (which majority do) warranty won’t help you. There’s an article of a guy who had a Lexus who had this issue in Ontario. Cost him over 10k.

I have a an ultimate 9 evo x pedal commander. I can lock the throttle. It’s plug and play, and they won’t take the time to figure it out. And won’t effect warranty.

Yeah most of the aftermarket glass breaking sensors have to be spliced in. Was hoping to avoid that route.

I already have ghost immobilizer, was just trying to avoid them tearing up the inside all together with the glass sensor.

All have to keep digging into this abit more. Thanks.

They’re gonna tear the shit out it regardless. Honestly, they’ll get it if they want it. Either the fob relayer, flat bed, etc. my in-laws out east have had an Acura, two lexuses and a 4Runner stolen from them via various methods.

Looks good. No splicing. They’ll still tear the shit out of it tho. lol

I have to say I’m lucky. Truck is in the garage at home. Compound at work. It’s only when traveling I have to worry.

That OEM sensor doesn’t work with the Gen3 per Toyota. I had it on my Tacoma and it wasn’t very sensitive. I’ve been searching for a glass break sensor for over a year now and have only found units that need to be wired in but haven’t found anyone who’s done it. The 506T by Viper is said to work but I haven’t found documentation for splicing it in.

Are they stealing the trucks or just breaking in to steal contents? If just breaking in to steal contents no alarm is going to make a difference, by the time you hear it and go outside they're gone. Be smart and just don't leave anything of value in the truck and don't leave anything visible. If they see a box, bag or backpack they'll break in hoping they get something good.

Best way to keep your windows from being smashed is leave the cars unlocked. Lock your car, and they will break it and get it regardless of your alarm.

Look to the wise folks of san fransisco for strategy there.

They are stealing them here. They are smashing back window to avoid alarm and reprogramming keys. They aren’t even using the relay attack anymore. They are ripping the dash apart and tapping into Toyota connect.

I wanna find a good GBS so that it notifies me on Toyota connect that my alarm is going off. I’m confident with the IGLA I have but I’m trying to avoid the cutting of all the wires. They only realize the igla is installed when the truck won’t start with their new keys

so far the best thing I have found is addashocksensor.com, they have a video of a tundra with it installed.

Would an apple air tag or similar under a floor mat be a good option at least for recovery?

I have an apple air tag as well. It’s super bad where I am, to the point I regret buying it. Beauty truck but I have to guard it like it’s a chunk of gold.

they are stealing them a few a night around here, they take them to the port and ship them overseas to Ghana, or Africa in general, I’ve seen tundras for sale in Ghana on websites with the Ontario plate still on it. It’s getting wildly out of hand

Remove your steering wheel, tires and battery, make them work for it.

At the end of the day it’s just a truck, which can be replaced. get good insurance and a good set of security cameras, and enjoy your life.

Agreed. Maybe someone will steal mine so I can get a 25 with massaging seats. You can only do what you can do. Not worth stressing over.

I installed the GBS and the hood latch sensor on my old 2011. Not sure how that would pertain or fit the new 25.

The Toyota GBS is tuned to a specific frequency (like banging two box wrenches or marbels in a glass jar) type sound.
And there is a sensativity setting you can set, depending how sensative you want it to be.

If the thief just pops the window, i doubt if that would trigger the GBS. Also the alarm/GBS doesnt come with
a "tilt" sensor, so when the truck shakes, it still would not generate an alarm.

If your "passive" alarm is already turned on, you could just roll down the windows but lock the doors and when the thief reaches inside
to unloack the door, the alarm sounds. Winters and parking outside could be tricky though.....

Wonder if there’s a way to add a fuel line valve on the hose that leads to the engine somewhere under the hood.

Little typo. It’s addshocksensor.com. I’m a little skeptical of them though. No online prices given, the same model says it fits 2015 Tundra and up, 2016 Tundra and up, and 21-22 Tundra, and no access to the installation videos is given until you buy.

    It was a joke...kinda.

Personally, I find the best anti-theft strategy is living and frequenting places where theft is very low, and having good insurance.

I know that's not an option for some people, though.
