Has anyone ran new speaker wires to the door for the 3rd gen Tundra? I am looking for tips to get new speakers wires to the upgraded component speakers.

Not in 3rd gen specifically, but I did it in my 2.5 gen and a handful of other vehicles, process is more or less the same on any vehicle. What specifically are you looking for tips on?

I try to find any gaps to feed the speaker wires through the front doors but no luck. It looks like the wiring that pass through from the cab to the doors are now using harnesses that block all gaps. it is impossible to pull the new wires without drilling. There is very little access to get any tools in the front the create a hole/gap to pull new wires. IF you have done this with similar set ups, please share. I think I might have to use factory wires to power the front and rear door speakers. IF this is the only way, which harness works for the 3rd gen JBL system?

I had to drill trim the connectors to pass wires for the rear doors in my gen 2.5, same thing, connectors block the entire opening whereas the front doors are wire bundles that run through the grommets/door boots. Do you have any pictures of what you're lookign at? I can go look at the EWD later and try and figure out what the connectors are. Just a thought, but if there are empty pins on the connectors, you could probably source the appropriate pins from Corsa Technic and then essentially utilize the factory connectors to pass aftermarket wiring. What kind of speakers/how many watts RMS are they? Factory wiring might be okay depending on power handling of your new speakers.

the front cab is going to really had to drill through. I am going to look for the harness to connect the amplifiers to the speaker wires. My only concern is how do I connect my separate components for the fron as I understand they are running in parallel. So if I power the front channel to the front channel output of the amp, how do I connect my passive crossover? I am going to use CDT Wideband system 4B that comes with the 8.0 unity drivers n the front and HD62 for the rears doors. the amp is goign to be JL HD900/5. IT looks like PAC audio as a speaker harness I could use, the aph-ty02

Looking at the wiring diagram here it looks like the front are not in parallel, but the rear is.

For speakers wired like that or anything factory in parallel, your option would be to either A) run new speaker wire or B) mount the crossovers in the doors and go amp>factory wiring to door>wiring adapter with bare wire ends>bare wires into crossover mounted in door>new wires ran in door to woofer and tweeter.

Thanks Snert. that would be good if the factory JBL is not in parallel.

Looking at the wiring diagram they're not, front should just be on their own unless they're in parallel via the connectors, I didn't look that closely at the ewd/connector pin outs.

To help illustrate what I'm saying about using the factory wiring for input into your door mounted crossovers :

Only things to consider are :
    1) power handling of your new speakers, typically factory wiring is good for up to about 75w RMS although it can vary
    2) crossovers mounted in doors isn't ideal for access, but typically passive crossovers are a set and forget scenario, also not ideal for doors being open/closed, moisture etc. but there are loads of people who've installed crossovers in doors, myself included, without issue. You can buy crossover mounts for in the doors and add foam or sound deadener to reduce vibrations etc.

I finally traced out the speaker cables that I need to connect to my amp. I ran into a problem with the rear doors as I have removed all the tweeter when tried to trace the door wirings. The crazy thing is that inputs to the tweeters provides the connection to the 6.5" speakers. The source comes in to the tweeters and the 6.5" speaker runs parallel off the tweeter. The wiring that goes to the source from the tweeter is small. I am not sure how it will handle 80-100W of power form the amp. Also, the wiring harness for the rear door tweeter is hard to find. I may have to get them from TT. If anyone knows a source for the tweeter harness that fits the rear doors with JBL, please let me know.
