I made a thread about this. They recently changed the material and printing.

Any holographic sticker on the box? The box says it’s for a 2.5L or 3.0L v6….

Only on one but they both (filters look the same) and they look like the correct size but I do not have one from the dealer to check against!

Is there a part number stamped on the pleat?

I’ve never seen a box like that… my box has always looked like the one posted by @TacomaTRD4x402

Nope and what I received was NOT what was pictured when I ordered. I was given a full refund and now will just get from my Toyota Dealer!

    Which?

I bought some oil drain plug crush washers from my local dealer and I think they are fake. The felt separates like the fake ones I got from Amazon a couple years ago.

I'm wondering if fake parts find their way into dealer inventory.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
If they are Good enough - probably already are. Sales are the Objective regardless of who made them.

    FYI

I bought one oil filter last year (Jan 2024) and another one last month (Jan 2025) both from a local Wal-Mart store and they both look like the pictures posted by @TacomaTRD4x402

Both boxes have the holographic sticker and both filters are orange but the one I bought last month doesn't have the Toyota stamped on the pleats. My older filter from last year has Toyota on one of the pleats. :D Other than that, everything else looks the same.

I seriously doubt that Wal-Mart would sell counterfeits so I am not concerned.

Filter test: can you easily crush the filter in your hand? If it compresses the center core it’s fake. The real ones are very firm and hand pressure isn’t enough to crush the core.
