Hi All - Just washed my new 2025 Tundra and found a bubble on the lower panel of the passenger door. Went back to Toyota and they took pics and have approved a repair. I don't know what the repair involves as I have not been contacted as to when/how it will be fixed. Just curious is anyone else had this issue.
2025 Blueprint 1794 TRD Off Road edition.

Depends. If it’s a bubble of paint as in separated from the metal, then repaint. If it’s a run, then potentially a cut and buff and reclear.

    and……

Sorry - here’s the paint bubble. Toyota said they’ll repair it just waiting for when.

If that’s as small as the images make it look, I would not want my door repainted to repair it. Just cut it down, and touch up whatever needs it after. You’ll retain 99% of the factory finish on that panel. It’s down in the chipguard anyway.

That's what I'm thinking - pop it or shave it down to keep as much factory integrity to the paint job.

Better find out what the fix is before they do it. They'll send it to a body shop that won't texture it correctly if they try to blend it. As others say, shave it down and hit it with touch up paint.

Thanks for everyone input - I'm going to ask what they plan on doing prior and ask for it to be shaved down and touched up.

You’re more understanding than I am. If I purchased a $75k vehicle with bubbled paint I’d be asking for a new door with OEM paint.

If the fix is not the new door then leave it as is. Failed integrity of paint is rust reason number one.

Probably not but it will oxidize and likely shed more paint.

Is it aluminum? Yea, it will oxidize in presence of road salt. Also it is attached to steel parts, which makes a good pair for electrochemical corrosion. I don't dare to say the brand name, but mine is 20 years old, I see this type of corrosion where aluminum is involved. Aluminum plays sacrificial anode role. So partially aluminum vehicle is not fully rust proof.

    Paint will begun chipping away.

A friend dropped his Lexus for repair at body shop used by dealers. Repair involved a repainting one side. Well, the color matches, more or less, however the clean room was not very clean and there's a lot of dust particles embedded in the paint now. The friend does not care, but high chance you will end up with more imperfections on the paint than you had before the repair.

The factory paint is the best.

If a professional paint shop did that, they suck. It’s not that noticeable though from a few feet I bet. As long as it doesn’t bother you and it’s protected from corrosion, all good.
