The rears are free floating since there is no coil back there. The rears are just the shocks but I do have a Toytec AAl for some rear lift

Exploring the West Side of Oahu with the lady! Beautiful day in Hawai'i Nei! Side note: Yeti cooler 45 Tundra works really well. Got it for a decent price and don't regret itIMG_6860.jpg IMG_6861.jpg IMG_6855.jpg IMG_6854.jpg IMG_6823.jpg

sup braddah, question on the recon. for the rear fender was any 3m tape used to secure the liner? like the section on the bottom end of the mud flap past the last screw? also do they just look how secure it is or do they touch and pull on it? majahlos

Aloha! So I used the existing bolts to mount it aand used 3M tape to fill the gaps. The mudflaps had 3M as well. They didn't touch and pull on it but they did make sure it was bolted on and not just taped. Lmk if you need anything else  When I get safety check, I just put 3 bolts on. left, top, and right, they always pass me.

Got my @TOTAL CHAOS bed stiffeners installed today with the help of the fiancé. She's getting a new 4Runner on Wednesday and now has the bug to work on Smokey

Hit a few roadblocks along the way.
    • One of the tie-down hook torx bolts rusted out and stripped. Tried drilling the center and hammering in a bigger torx to no avail. Ended up with the trusty method of a flat-head screwdriver and hammer at an angle.
    • Hardest part of the process was holding the nylon insert lock nuts within the tail light areas, on the vertical part of the stiffeners. Wish I had a set of flex-head ratchets.
    • Right at the end, literally last bolt on the bottom of the bed. Fiancé wanted to crawl under, dropped the washer and didn't know where it went. I swear we spent 30 minutes looking for the thing...
Hit all the newly drilled holes with POR-15 prior to install and here is the job well-done! Ended the day with a steak and Voodoo Rangers.

Decided to switch up where the WaterPORT was mounted. Went from tow hitch to side bar of the Yakima racks. Going to put in a hitch safe so I don't have to continue to hide my key somewhere when we head out to surf haha.

FINALLY got to putting a full sized spare on. Same wheel/tire combo 18x9 +25 - 285/70. The guiding brackets did need to be removed. Fit with good clearance from the shackles and exhaust. A tad close to the tow hitch, not touching but I'm 99% sure it was how I levered it up. Could probably readjust for a little more space. Regardless, fits well and have knocked off a mod I've been wanting to do since getting the truck

How much cutting did you have to do to fit that big ol’ S.O.B in there?

Haha! Angle grinder, air hammer, and a chisel. Took about 2 hours because the electric company here on the island decided to do maintenance in the area mid job so lost the ability to use air tools

But four rivets holding two guiding brackets. The angle was a PITA but it made for a fun morning lol

    Hooray for HECO!

HECO’s biggest hits! Remember the big earthquake? Or how about the strike after Ewa lost power. Or maybe the constant raising of the power bills until we were the highest in the country! Not that I’m bitter…

    Anyway, good work.

Throwback Thursday! V1 of Smokey in August 2018. I remember we spent the morning paddle boarding then hit the trails with luck in finding a vacant beach. Spent the entire day outdoors. Need to do this more often :D

New Exhaust Installed. Installed a @dirtydeeds TRD Replacement Mid-Section System with dual 12x5 mufflers, X-piping, without resonators. Took about two hours to install. Kept the stock cats and stock TRD tail pipes.

Previously had a Flowmaster Super 40 welded on to the stock TRD System. Man, it droned sooooooooo bad. It made me hate driving my truck. My dad has 1995 GMC Sierra with the 40 series, thing sounds amazing and classic. Always wanted to have that same sound I loved but when I finally got it on the Tundra, I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I had the Flowmaster on for less than three weeks. I currently don't have resonators installed on the Dirty Deeds system. Coming from the Flowmaster, the Dirty Deeds system has cut the drone by at least 50%, the truck now feels healthier, the pedal:sound ratio is in sync, and I actually feel like I got some low-end torque back. The Flowmaster was loud and does give that classic muscle/tin-can sound but performance wise, I actually felt like I lost a little power and it will also come with a reverb in the cabin that makes it feel like flys are in your ear. Sound wise, the Dirty Deeds system has a more natural flow and sound progression when hitting the pedal. It is less throaty at idle at hanging in lower gears but when you hit the gas, you know it's there and so do other people (c'mon, you have to show it off too lol).

For people who are debating resonators vs. no resonators, I think it depends what exhaust you're previously coming from. For my own situation, it is much much better than the Flowmaster drone, even without resonators. I may or may not get resonators in the future. I am confident that if I did, it would be as quiet as a empty library in the cab BUT that makes me a little nervous as it might make me think my exhaust isn't even there HAHA! A little drone let's you know where you're at within the throttle some may argue...

Keith over at Dirty Deeds is THE MAN. He was beyond helpful and put my mind (and truck) at ease. We spoke on the phone on a Sunday evening going over options, ideas, and he provided me with a lot of knowledge about exhaust systems in general. He even gave me a call post-install to see how I like it. I'm a customer for life. Attached a picture of the current mid-section of the exhaust and a picture of the one that came off.

This is the way to go for anyone looking to modify your exhaust the correct way!
