Trying to decide on my next set of tires. I think I have it down to either Ridge Grapplers or Exo Grapplers in 285/70-18. I've seen plenty of people running the RGs but I haven't seen much about the Exo Grapplers. Anyone running them? Any pros or cons of one vs the other? I drive in the ice/snow so are either one better in those conditions than the other? Any help/info is greatly appreciated.

I have the Exo Grapplers in that size. They're a great tire in everything but heavy mud. They do well in snow and are rated for severe snow use.

Looks good. How do they appear to be wearing? Noisey?

    See fine print
When I was comparing them for the same size the exo weight a lot more. Not sure if you care about that. The severe snow rating is cool to have. But the weight of the exo made me look the other way lol.

Weight is a concern. From Nitto's website, it looked like the exos weighed about 5-6 lbs more. Does make me lean a little more toward the ridge grapplers.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one, but for snow use, I have heard better things about the exo grapplers.

That is because a tighter tread pattern will do better in snow and ice whereas open is better in mud

The Nitto website has the RG at 60# and EG at 62#. The RG is $35 more per tire.
I am looking for tires as well and looking at these 2 as well as Falken Wildpeak 3 and the Nitto Terra Grappler.

Did you purchase either the exo or ridge grapplers?? I am in the market for a set of tires currently running BFG KO2. I think I have it narrowed down to 3 options exo, ridge or falken wildpeak at3. Wondering if you have any snow/ice reports?

I did end up getting the Ridge Grapplers because they were lighter. They seemed to handle snow better than the KO2s is had previously. Seemed to be a great tire but I sold the truck so I dont have anymore info on them.

I decided to try the Ridge Grapplers, switching from Goodyear Duratracs for years on Tacomas, and after one summer, I’m not sure they are wearing as good as the Duratracs did. They also don’t look as aggressive(sidewall) as I like, and I feel the Duratracs got them beat on appearance. That being said, they ride really nice and I’m still very happy I tried them— time will tell if I switch back.

I ordered the Exo grapplers today over the ridge bc they are 3 MTN peak rated and talked with a few people that ran them and liked them a lot. Time will tell I guess

My buddy runs the Exos year round on a Silverado and said he has had good luck with them.

I called 5 places here where I live and everyone said the $ difference between the RG and Exo was the same or $1 or 2

I run the Exo Grapplers and I’ve had them for ~3.5 years and ~41k miles. Last service they had 9/32nd tread left, new they had 18.4. Very impressed with the performance on the farm and they are the best tire I’ve had in the snow hands down. I can drive around usually in 2WD with auto-LSD where I required 4WD with my old Tundras on Trail or Mud Grapplers.

I’ll be buying them again once these wear out. Only downside I can say is they are nosier than most tires on the highway. But nothing like the Nitto Mud Grapplers I had on my previous Tundra. My MPG has been respectable considering 34” tires.
