Anyone else have an intake whistle?

2016 5.7. You can hear it at tip in at lower speeds. Just confirming its normal.

There's a wire mesh that you can either cut out or replace with a different one attached to the throttle body. There's a writeup here.

Hi, I've been hearing the same thing. Were you able to fix the whistling noise?

 

Remove gasket with screen in throttle body buy gasket with out screen at dealer easy fix

Here is a video how to fix it. https://youtu.be/V16V43pk8ek It was well worth the $9 for the part and the 10 minutes it took me to fix it. I may just be really sensitive to high pitch sounds, but I couldn't stand the noise before I did this. Now it's completely gone.

By chance do you know if this part will work with TRD SC?

 

No idea, but I would assume the supercharger causes more whistle then this gasket is.

 

Would this gasket work on a 2012 Tundra?

 

Removing said gasket, then snipping off the screen has the same results, costs nothing but 10 min of time. Did this in mine--haven't had that damn whistle since

 

Also solved by BAMuffler install.
