I am hoping to add a bracket above my license plate to add 2 driving lights. However I want to know if this is a sensor for something? This is the front of the car directly above license plate on a 2021 Sequoia TRD Pro

thats your adaptive cruise control sensor. if ur gonna do all that might as well get a bull bar to add lights

That’s great to know thank you! Do you know if it looks out at a certain angle/spread or does it just look straight?

So I’m under the understanding that the bull bar will definitely block that sensor and is a non option. I am thinking of adding the attached image. Then I would put a metal cross bar on to get the lights outside of the view of the ACC sensor.

If anyone knows the angle that sensor looks out at that would help a ton

im not sure about the spread pattern. another option would be to swap to a tundra grill which the sensor is behind the grill instead. or build a bracket above the sensor instead? what about using ditch lights instead?

all great ideas. ultimately i’m going for sae compliant driving lights so can’t do ditch lights (too high) I’ve decided to manufacture my own bracket just above the license plate. Will get the pod lights just far enough outside the sensor (will do trial and error until i know the right minimum width) and i will report back once done. should be a fun project for us ACC Sequoia folks with few options for additional front facing lighting

Old thread but FYI, Randy Ellis Fab is sending me out the sleekster lightbar tundra kit to test fit on my seqouia. From what I have gathered it *should* clear the sensor and be fine, Ill report back here once installed and tested
