So I ordered new door checks for the rear doors(it sucks trying to get tools or a kid in or out and the door keeps wanting to eat you!)
First use a small screw driver(really small) to pop off the screw cover at the handle, also pop off the one under the arm rest and unscrew the Phillips screw.A4025BD3-5488-48EB-9062-493558E9667B.jpg
Before you start to try and pop the card off, there are two weird anchors on the outside edge of the card, the centers get pushed in, then you use a small trim tool or small flat blade screw driver to pry/wiggle them out.F591768C-6165-467A-8AEA-9A099E38F82A.jpg

Next is popping all the clips, it can be scary, but usually nothing breaks that’s to important, at the very bottom of the card towards the outer edge of the door is the best gap/spot to slide a trim popper or your hands and start pulling, once you have them all popped or broken off, the door opener needs to be shifted away from the hinge as your pulling the door card up and out. There are three locking tabs that just slide backwards to disengage. Then you can turn the handle assembly sideways and send it out the hole, disconnect any electrical and it’s free! 852171AC-5168-4EC5-BFFA-1C0EF507CCE7.jpg

Nice write up. I’m doing the same thing this weekend on my 06 DC.

Now for reinstalling:the hardest part is getting the door handle/lock pull back on correctly. You can feed the assembly back thru the door card and then set the whole card back into place and try to get those sliding clips to go into their homes, but it’s kinda hard. So I learned from the first door. While you have to door card off, remove the trim on the latch assembly, you will gently pry the two ears, one at a time, untill they pop over the plastic stud, the front of it pivots out off of a hook.2B75B751-270F-4A45-A8EE-FC1861983D87.jpg

Now slide and lock the latch assembly onto the door frame into its home. At this point you can reattach all your electrical and set the door card down into the window track, line up all the buttons you popped( 90467-09203 if you need more) and then work your way around the door popping each one in, the sound is pretty satisfying. 6E60C93D-7876-4AEC-9C33-3F2074AE0DB9.jpg
Now take the latch trim and pull the latch to get it behind/thru the hole in the trim piece, while holding the lever out you have to get that front hook on the trim to seat into the forward most square in the latch assembly, you should be able to seat it and kinda pull back to make sure it’s in there, it won’t look like the two rear studs will land in the trim piece correctly, but slowly push it onto the studs making sure you don’t move it away from the hinge side to far thus disengagement of that front hook/tab.
Then with those two weird color matched anchors, remove the center pin and then push only the larger outer into the door, then fully push in the center pin flush and your done

    Thanks
I don’t plan on letting my kids smoke, so I’m already pondering some USB/power outlets for the ash tray in those rear doors. Should be pretty easy, seems like there is a lot of space inside there
