So as the title states i have an 07 5.7 4x4. I had the classic actuator issue with water, rust and a life time of headaches. My actuator motor on top is 100% trash and naturally they want my first born to replace it. Right now its stuck in 4x4 and i need to get into 2wd so i can at least drive it till i can figure out which way i want to go to get it working. At this point i think it will be cheaper to get a used unit from LKQ that has a good actuator and swap the whole damn thing out. Anyways can anyone point me in the right direction? I really appreciate any input you all have.

Im hoping in can find the selector rod positions so i can atleast get it into gear before i go to the extreme of replacing it. I can do the job of replacing it no problem. I just dont have the money right now.

You should be able to shift the rod, fork, just look at how it is assembled (clocked) before taking it apart.

Thats the problem. Before taking it apart it was already stuck in 4x4 and then slipped into neutral so i dont know what the original position was.

Take the top cover off the transfer case actuator and push the rod all the way in. That will put the transfer case in 2wd.

I took this picture of the gear in the correct position for 2wd when I had mine apart.
