On my 08' Tundra i started her up yesterday and the VSC, 4Lo and Check engine lights are constantly blinking. Tried to reset everything by disconnecting battery and no dice. Tried engaging/disengaging 4WD and again no dice. She seems to drive fine, but a bit uncomfortable when lights that are supposed to be dummy proof are going off. LOL Any suggestions or ideas on issue would be appreciated.

You will need to find out what the code is that is set which turns on the Check Engine Light. Sometimes the local auto parts store with do this at your request free of charge. That's the real determination, the other lights come on as a matter of course to let you know that those functions are disabled due to the Engine Code. Many manufacturers do this as a matter of course.

He said it drives fine so not in limp mode but still more then likely an SAIP issue
Stop by a parts store ( AZ, OR, Advanc ) most all of them will pull codes for you then come back here and order the Hewitt Tech bypass kit

I vote for codes before buying anything... chances are something got loose or a rodent bit something that may trigger something..

This may help narrow it down in conjunction with the codes.

Just got the same lights yesterday. Tranny felt like it was going into neutral while driving. Pulled codes and a solenoid wasn't activating when the tranny was cold. Works fine when warm. You need to get the codes pulled. This could be so many different things.

I ordered and installed an AIP bypass kit. I’m getting these codes again. Anything I should check? Are there any fuses related?

Mine ended up being tranny fluid level. What codes are you getting?

I haven’t had it checked yet. I’m working 7 12s. May be a minute until I’m free to have that analyzed.

    I got the following codes:
    P0302
    P0125
I looked them up. Cylinder 2 misfire (ran kinda rough once for about 30 seconds at ~50 mph). The 2nd code is for low coolant. And I know I have a radiator leak. About to purchase a new one. Is there a way to reset without going to a dealer?

Fill up your coolant & Swap your coil pack from the 2nd cilinder to another one and visa versa , erase the codes and see what comes back up ... how did you get the codes ? You’re better of buying a obd reader so you can read/erase yourself. You could always try taking of the negative battery side.

I sought the unending wisdom of the employ of the local O’Reilly after work. Any recommendations on an OBD-II reader?

Back from the dead. Have had the truck for about a year or so and all of a sudden these lights came on including the 4 LO light.
Had my buddy who’s a mechanic scan my 2008 Tundra with the 5.7 and 173k miles.
Brought up these codes. I’m guessing it’s an Saip problem? Do I need the Hewet bypass kit?
Would that also cause it not to go into 4wd?
Runs good like it is. Just hate all the lights and would rather fix it.
    Thanks!

I did replace the MAF several days ago. Was getting these codes before that. Not sure it would help any of these other codes/lights. Definitely helped the MPG. Went from distance to empty from 300 to 439 after I filled up.

    Hi Cghelton,

Were you getting the Engine, Trac Off, and blinking 4Lo? If so, did replacing MAF rid of those dreaded 3 lights?
