    Finally getting around to this...

TIP: I look for coupons and used Amazon warranty items to find my deals, sometimes you just get lucky...

I upgraded my double din Pioneer 7 inch unit to a 10.1 Xtrons unit at the start of the year during lockdowns.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CDJZ7L8?ie=UTF8

It's a great unit for the price but it was extra $$ to get all the functions to work.

Overall I think I spent about under $700 total, shipped and fees for this unit and everything it needed, GPS, USB splitter, OBDII connect extra hard drive storage, and DAB+ antenna, ETC...

Overall it was worth paying with it.
Screen quality was good, fit great in the space and it was a very fast unit with no lag between screens.
The only gripe would be that it needed to search for a DAB+ signal that I never could get to work right so you would have to switch the screen every time you started the car.

Not a big deal but just one of those things that you notice...
Not to mention that even though I had all the DAB+ accessories I still couldn't get it to work locally.
My understanding is that it's a worldwide radio tuner so I could still get signals even crossing the borders.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Audio_Broadcasting

I think I just never got to figure out how to set it right...

Now during one of my voyages down the rabbit hole of the internet, I came across this 12.8 unit.

    https://www.amazon.com/Flyunice-Uni...ectronics&sprefix=12.8,electronics,270&sr=1-1

I didn't get it on amazon, I found it on sale for about $400 all in on another site with coupons that took PayPal, with the protection.
So I ordered one, came pretty fast in about a week from China, and finally got to installing it today.

It's doesn't seem to have a brand name which in this case I like but looks and functions exactly like the one in the amazon link.

I was also able to use all the extra accessories that were with the Xtrons unit but really didn't need it.

The 12.8 seems to be just the right fit for the space, if not just a little big.
The ability to rotate the screen takes care of any blockages though so works out well.

My favorite thing is the inclinometer that is built-in with the radio standard.

Only have had a few hours so still working out the programs but connect to my android phone well, GPS, and everything seems to work very well.

It displays the Torque app perfectly with plenty of room for everything else.

Sound quality is much better than the xtrons and pioneer units I've had.

So overall very happy with this unit.

It's simple and very no fuss.

prefect for the road and screen is just right.
8.5 out of 10 for price and fit.

I also have 2 Rockville 8' hideaway sub's like this.

Fits perfectly under my Recaros but thinking about doing something like this since I don't use my back.

Hope this helps you guys decide!

I added a few pics of the AC controls with the screen sitting both vertically and horizontally

Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
If you are willing to buy a Chinese head unit, and many of them are good, you're better off bypassing Amazon, ebay, and most of the local dealers. Even with coupons, you wont beat the prices you get from alibaba, aliexpress, etc... Which is where the manufacturers of these units are selling directly, and the companies selling on amazon, ebay, etc are getting theirs. There is definitely a lil' more security when dealing with amazon and knowing you can send it right back w/o the headache of broken English emails and possibly having to send it back to China. But sometimes the savings are worth a lil' risk, and for the most part, the ones I've dealth with do try to answer questions and make any issues right.

As an example, the xtrons HU you linked up top can be had for about 280.
