Cement Hood Bulges have been back ordered FOREVER now. The wait is driving me crazy.

There are a lot of aftermarket ones, already painted, out there. Typical price is about $100.

I get it's only a $100, but I still hate wasting money on junk.

Anyone have any experience / feedback on these.

Do you have any links? I don't think I've seen any color match that low except for the generic white and black. Definitely not for other colors.

I bought a bulge a few years back off Amazon for around that price but I was attempting to paint it since I knew its color was off. The issues I had: it didn't fit well at all and there were gaps between it and the hood, it was also missing the rubber strip that your stock bulge has. The company ended up refunding me half but I couldn't return it since I had painted it. Counted that as a win and learning curve and definitely didn't try again.

The concerns I see at buying a paint matched one at 100. Is this a new or used part that was painted? How well is it painted along with how accurate is the paint match? Is it going to fit correct and hold up? I honestly don't see how they could offer a new bulge, that is painted correctly, at that price point.

totally worth it IMO, factory part, factory paint match and sparks is good to deal with, ive used them before. Their paint does match, have one of their bulges on my truck now.

so about 300ish all in for the part you want and you will have it before end of August.....vs spending 100+ for something that wont fit right and paint will not match, not to count your time in searching for the part, looking up the company, reviews or delivery times.

At least your issue wasn't as bad as mine. I wasted $800 on a POS TRex grill that did not fit properly. Their resolution was to bend the tabs on the grille to make it fit. They seller wouldn't take it back either. I don't know why but it's still sitting in the garage.

I bought an MGM hood bulge for mine 2 years ago when one was not avail from Sparks and no issues so far. I did replace the clips with the green ones before installing and I also add ppf film so it will last.

Are you looking for a full replacement or would an overlay work?

I used to use Sparks because they are 90 miles from me. I’ve been waiting two weeks for my latest order of various small parts. Heck I could have walked there to get my parts quicker.

An overlay would work, and I've heard good things... But I'd rather replace it.

All the exact same concerns I have.

If you search for "Tundra Cement" on ebay, you will see what ones I've been looking at.

If you decide to go with overlays, you can use code TUN10 for 10% off.

All our stuff is made in the USA

My front end got destroyed with a deer hit. Insurance didn't cover the bulge, but I wanted to replaced it with a color matched bulge as they did cover the grille surround etc.

We went with these guys (Canada and local to me). They said their parts are OEM but not branded, but made in the same factory. It was considerably cheaper than OEM Toyota. It is an identical match to my OEM surround and quality seems the same as well. Of course they are going to say it's the same but not branded, but it actually did appear to be in my case.

Looking back, I would advise against overlays. Buy once, save up and do it right. No tape, no gaps, better fit.

I don't regret my purchase(s), but believe full replacements are vastly superior and not that much more money.

Yes, I had front and rear end caps. The front end caps have been replaced with an aftermarket steel bumper. The left cap (impact) survived the deer hit, so that was impressive.

The rear caps are still on. Someone dinged us camping (parking lot hit and run) and left a small impression a couple years ago that dented the chrome under as well. I asked in one of your threads on advise on how to fix, you said you were going to check with someone. You never got back to me, so I asked again. I was told, no way to repair, I'd have to buy new ones as they can't be repaired or manipulated or bent back etc.

When the time is right, I will be replacing the rear bumper but will live with the ding until that time as a reminder.

Jim's link was spot on. Kudos to the original poster @shifty` and @Jim LE 1301

Their price was $259, but they have 25% off parts plus free nationwide shipping.
I didn't get the hood bulge yet, but got the front TRD swaybar for $113.71 plus few other items.
The discount & esp the free shipping really cut the costs down.
The website says 6 days left on the 25% parts discount & free shipping.
I'm still looking for the front grille in quicksand, before I order the hood bulge.
I might have to just get the bulge before the sale is over & try to paint the front chrome grille myself.

Btw, an update on my order from Serra Toyota Birmingham.
I placed an order on Fri (8/16) and got an email from them saying shipped on Mon (8/19), arriving on Wed (8/21). I'm very impressed, very fast shipping!

Also, I had a brain fart or a senior moment earlier. I had posted that I was waiting to buy the Hood bulge from them, but I had already ordered it from another dealer a day earlier.
I should have waited and saved money on shipping! But anyway, I bought from Conicelli Toyota from Conshohocken, PA.
I placed the order for the hood bulge last Thurs (8/15), got shipping notice on Mon (8/19) and just got it delivered this morning at 11:30am. So very fast order processing & shipping as well.
It was packaged well, no damage and I'd recommend them as well (I believe I got 10% off shipping).
I didn't install it yet, but held it against the hood and the color match is pretty good (at least in the garage with overhead LED lighting), more than good enough for me.

Anyway, just some update on my shopping experience with these 2 dealers. Definitely :101010:
