I'm trying to doll up my new truck on the cheap. I did the running boards and got the reconditioned wheels off of ebay. I really like the look of the truck but the tailgate is so plain jane. Just having that Tundra Logo stamped in (like the newer models) would be a game changer. I'm new here so are there any tailgates that are interchangeable from newer models? Anybody got pics of a Tundra decal on a black gate? Any other ideas? TIA

I've been told the newer stamped "Tundra" tailgates will fit but may look odd as the top and shape will not flow with your body lines.
If you try it, be sure to post pics since I'm trying to located a rust free bed and tailgate and the more options I have, the better chance I have locating one.

I cheap upgrade to the looks is to find some 20" factory aluminum wheels. I got some takeoffs with newer tires for $400 a while back. The platinum trip wheels are nice looking. They are the same on both the sequoia and tundra.

One option may be to try some new taillights. I have been eyeing the alpharex rears. Not the tailgate but may spruce up the back end.

The 14-21 tailgate will be noticeably out of place without replacing the bedsides as well. Totally different body lines between the 2 generations.

It's always an option to replace the whole bed! tailgate included. I hear its a direct swap.
