New to the forum. Just bought back the 02 Tundra that I originally new. It is SR5 access cab.
Looking to buy some 17” TRD Pro wheels off a 2019 4Runner.
Anyone had a problem runner the larger wheel and tire?

If your truck is 4wd and those t4r wheels still have 265/70/17s you’ll be fine.

I currently run the "snowflake" 17 inch wheels from a 2019 4runner, they're great. 265/70/17. The TRD Pro wheels would be even cooler.20240107_061641.jpg USC70TOS071A021001-957263281.jpg

I knew lug pattern would work. Just curious If any rubbing occurs in front fender wells. It is a 4wd and get used as such.

Yup, gets asked a lot. And not just for 4WD, "will it fit", "will I rub", so much it's one of the points in the sticky thread I linked. This is the one question that megathread never managed to solve.

We usually link people up with this thread, which is 30 pages of various Toyota OEM wheels on 1st gens, including the TRD Pro wheels you're interested in using: https://www.tundras.com/threads/lets-see-1st-gen-with-toyota-rims.40487/

We still manage to get peppered with queries on OEM variants, which is fine, but it's pretty persistent. Like, this was last week for OEM T4R wheels: https://www.tundras.com/threads/which-non-tundra-toyota-rims-fit-fgt.135704/

I realize you're not looking for non-TRD so there are others who asked your exact question within the last 12 months (there's another from summer/fall I didn't find easily): https://www.tundras.com/threads/trd-rims-17-on-first-gen.119404/

And there definitely some already running those TRD wheels with AT tires, no problem: https://i.postimg.cc/PJFXQmtx/wheels.jpg

Tire-wise, some food for thought on 17" tire options if you want to upsize:

265/70r17 (31.6") I can see being tempting for some folks for added performance, knowing our OEM size 265/65r17 @ 30.6" seems pretty inadequate.
275/70r17 (32.2") looks aggressive and substantial, grabs as much as I'll ever need.
285/70r17 (32.7") looks beefy and large, it's a lot of member's preferred choice at 17" and shouldn't rub more than flaps or kiss frame at full lock on your AC or RC.
295/70r17 (33.3") ... maybe you have a reason, I see no point other than bragging rights and loss of driveability.
If you do choose to upsize, and you find you rub with the front mud flap, there are ways you can trim to compensate for that: https://www.tundras.com/threads/1st-gen-mud-flap-splash-guard-mods-for-larger-tires-lift.133574/

Lots of suspension lift info in the sticky thread too, along with wheel and tire considerations. Just don't be the guy who goes out and buys Rancho or Rough Country garbage. Bilstein is only a hair more. No offense to anyone who bought that stuff w/o checking in here first.

I had Tacoma 16s with 265/75-16 Yokohama Geolanders and they rubbed the frame at full lock both sides.
I now have the same 4-Runner wheels as @Jasons2006Tundra with the same tires (forget the size offhand, they’re whatever was sold new with the 4R) and they’re a better fit, better offset on the wheel. I think I’m still getting a little frame rub at full lock.

Same here except for tire brand, I run a set of Spidertrax spacers now and all good for me.

Here's a decent one. Works great with the fender flares.

Those are Tacoma wheels though, right? The 4Runner wheels have a better offset, closer to the stock offset I believe. Spacers could still look good.

Yeah 4runner wheels are a bit better on offset but not quite the same as stock.
