Nice looking CT camper shell for AC, missing back window (frame is intact), northeast of Jackson in middle TN: Those are some looong sliders, bet the visibility is great with this cap.

If you see a vertical seam mid-window, it's almost always a slider. There's one exception, and that's for the trucks with flush-mounted glass (i.e. no bed around the edge) and a typically-slanted seam about 2/3 of the way to the rear, those are often pop-out vent windows. Notice the last red cap I posted? Notice there's a rubber seal/bead around the perimeter? That's also a slide out.

See how this glass is flush-mount? https://www.tundras.com/threads/1st-gen-camper-shells.94096/page-34#post-3524195

And a seam 2/3 of the way back? That has a pop-out window.

Always look for the outer bead, in short. It should indicate whether slider or vent/wing window is on it.

thought I'd share my most infuriating FB marketplace experience to date. On a related note, I am still looking for a green cap after 2 years of hunting the New England area. Hope this guys enjoying the extra $30 he got for his Leer.

Most people it seems, have no honor or character anymore. Used to be, you could take someone at their word. I expect most people to be flakes now, so I am rarely disappointed, but it really sucks that you wasted the time and fuel. The seller was, or is a real Richard Cranium.

Think this would fit my AC? 77"x67"
No habla Ingles, by the looks of it and no pic of the rear window.
I'd like to check it out and maybe offer $250.

Tough call. Depends on how they measured. 66x78 is what I’d like to see for 1GT AC.

Anyone recognize this style of cap? The listing said it came off of an ‘03 tundra but it’s not a big brand and I can’t seem to find any pictures of similar ones. Thanks

Brand doesn't matter as long as it fits and is quality construction, and follows these guidelines.

Looks quality-made, legitimately looks like a Leer or ARE mid-rise to me until you get to the rear light, which is more like what ATC manufactures.

There's so many brands out there besides ARE, Leer. and Snugtop. Ranch, Jason, Century, Jeraco, Innovation to name a few.

@shifty` That makes sense, thanks for the info. I didn't realize there were that many other brands that made model-specific sizing for these. Going to try and check it out soon.

That’s a unique one. Has $500 worth of racks on top too. $1500 isn’t outlandish, but you can always offer less and see what his bottom dollar is. If it matches your color paint it might be a decent deal already. $3-500 for paint and $500 for racks makes a $500 camper turn into a $1500 one fast.

The value for you is dropping rapidly. But sometimes, if it’s the one, you gotta pay to play. It is a more unique style camper that won’t come around as often.

I don’t think a different vehicle make shell would fit correctly. Just keep searching. You’ll find one.
