Howdy everyone, does anyone know if a 1st gen Sequoia rear metal bumper would fit on a 2005 tundra double cab? The seller says that it retains the factory hitch, rear crossmember, and uses the original 10 factory bolt-on locations.

Here’s one I found of it. On his website it ships the bumper in pieces and you need to weld it yourself. I imagine that minor modifications can be made.

I would say, no. There is no where for the sides of that bumper to go on a tundra. The tundra bumper does not wrap around like the sequoia bumper does.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I checked out those links but I was hoping to save $800 by going a different route :S
My biggest concern with the majority of steel bumpers are that they are not tow rated, which freaks me out as I tow a lot. I'm debating about getting a rear MOVE bumper https://www.movebumpers.com/products/precision-rear-bumper-kit because it looks like it keeps the OEM trailer hitch, and I found an add-on tire carrier kit. My only concern is that the few pics I've seen look bulky and clunky. https://www.4xinnovations.com/Swing-Out-Tire-Carrier-Kit_p_112.html

Brute Force Fab has an integrated receiver. Looks pretty good too. Lots of options.

Do you know if they're tow rated? I didn't see any information on the website.

I cant find where i read it, but somewhere official looking the iron bull rear bumper was class 3 (5000 lbs) compatible, and their bolt on front hitch was good for 3600lbs. But like i said, i havent found an official source.

Getting 'rated' is really expensive. But if you pay attention to your hitch & reinforce if necessary you can haul what you need to tote.

It says it's not rated, but will handle anything the factory hitch will handle.

I read an article about a guy who bought an aftermarket bumper that wasn't rated and it led to the receiver being torn from the bumper :eek2:. That guy was on the hook for all the damage that was caused and insurance wouldn't cover a dime. Since then, I've got some concern about going a route that isn't using the factory receiver or a rated bumper :notsure:
