    Rear leafsprings broken,
    Is there a recall?
Why does the Tacoma have a recall and not the tundra?

It's 20 years old and probably a different manufacturer that provided the part?:notsure:

I called toyota and made a report and have a ticket number if it ever gets enough complaints it becomes a recall and I'm on record.
But I didn't know if anyone else had any luck or thoughts on how to recoup costs on inferior parts.
Also my bumper support tow hitch frame failed state inspection, to weak and rusty.
They said it's not part of the frame recall parameters.
    Anyone else have these issues?
Or have any avenue of recourse?

You're driving a 20 year old truck. Leaf springs are a wear item. Replace them and be thankful they lasted this long. It sounds like you're in the rust belt. Did you take any steps to protect the undercarriage from salt?

Are you on your original ball joints too?

I've done all the recalls and do undercoat it every fall and am very proactive with rust prevention,
    Especially with Toyota's track record,
They have great power plants and running gear, it's mostly their metal and plastic production that has major problems.

The spray from road grime/brine during the salt season gets inside the rear trailer hitch tube. I've seen a number of them that rust out from the inside. They were not coated on the inside and the spray during the melting of the ice/snow will get inside that tube and rust it out. Find a junkyard hitch or order an aftermarket hitch and bolt it up. Some things last forever, but if its metal and its in the rust belt it wont if you drive it. You gotta spray INSIDE everything and cross your fingers, stuff rusts up there man... Its crazy to see a 10yo chevrolet with half the bedside missing and the rockers completely gone and holes in the bed the size of basketballs. You seriously gotta stay on top of the game to keep a vehicle running in the rust belt, you are fighting an uphill battle.
