New to the 1st gen tundras. Just got a 2001 AC 4x4.

Have had multiple tacomas that I put 5100's and ome 2887 springs on to give it a 3inch ish lift.

Tried searching didnt find much information on the subject of doing something similar. The truck currently has the 5100 ride adjustable shocks. Anyone know if the 2887 would perform the same (3inch roughly lift) or if the 6112 would be a better choice and if so what coils for a 3inch or close to lift? Aswell as what to do with the rear? I normally add a leaf but most likely will be adding airbag suspension to the rear for towing.

Truck wouldnt see any rough trails. Mostly for clearance and bigger tires.

I just removed a 2" lift from my new-to-me 2006. It had spacers in the front struts using the original shocks. It had a solid spacer on the leaf springs and wheel spacers to fit 20" rims. I hated it. The front geometry was so off that the knuckle caught in the coil springs so there was effectively no front spring action. The swaybar was removed and it didnt handle good at highway speed - you had to constantly drive the vehicle. The front tires dragged on the frame at 2/3 steering range. Everything rubber in the front end was torn because it was all at its extreme range of motion.

I put it all back to stock and much prefer it that way.
