So i went out to run errands today my truck started and ran fine till my last stop. I turned the truck off, and ran into the store when I tried to start the truck back up it didn't even crank. Did I blow A relay?

Any lights on dash? Truck in P or N with brake applied? When you tried to crank...did you hear clicking from starter?

Some first gen folks will probably chime in shortly. I'm assuming you have the 4.7 engine, couple of things may be going on (that I can think of).

    1. Check your fuse box for a blown ignition fuse/ relay. I'm unfamiliar with the 1st gens fuse box. Your main is probably under the hood. If you find the ign relay, swap it with another non-critical relay & test it. Usually the ignition fuse will be relatively large.

    2. Your battery may be depleted enough to not engage the starter (if your lights are still reasonably bright...I doubt this is the case).

    3. The starter may be sticking/ going out...its located under the intake manifold by the firewall unfortunately. If you can get back there & tap on it...give it a shot.

    4. You may have a neutral safety switch issue (if the 1g's have them). Try rocking your shift lever between D, N, R a few times & attempt to start it. Also depress the brake pedal, as there may be a safety switch there as well.

    5. You may have an immobilizer issue with your key (if equipped)....in my experience the engine will usually still crank if that's the case. Try a different key.

    6. If you have your owners manual...it has a decent "no start" checklist. May have something I didn't mention in there.

Edit: check your battery + / - terminals & main chassis ground for corrosion as well. Could be a current flow issue.

    Above advice is correct.

Many possibilities with your problem but only a few that are likely.

#1, check your battery. Thoroughly clean your terminals, this is the most common reason an engine won't crank, by far.

It's happened to me kn a few cars, was the battery every time. Weak batteries show how out of life they are especially when Winter starts.
