Hi, I got hit by a car in the right front whee of 2004 Sequoial. Replaced lower control arm, lower ball joint. Trying to install new upper control arm with new bolt. Original bolt was bent from wreck and I had to cut the control arm and beat the bolt out.

New bolt seems too long... It's hitting fender well and I can't line it up to go through. I can't even get it to go through the hole without the control arm in place.

Anyone else ever run into this problem?

If it's like the Tacoma, you can bend the sheetmetal by hand to make clearance.

Yep I got it. Had to make a little space with the drilling hammer. All put together. Only other snag was getting the castle nut on the upper ball joint. Stud spinning and my pry bar and jacking up under the lbj helped but didn't do the trick good enough. Still a few threads short. It's on enough to half-a__ get the safety pin in so I'm gonna ask the alignment shop if they can tighten it. Hopefully they have a big enough pry bar!!
This total job was a pita and if anyone has any future questions I'd be happy to help as I can.
Hardest part was cutting out the lower control arm. The camber sleeves were stuck in the bushings.
Trickiest moment was getting the new lower control arm into the frame spaces. The inside space between the bushings was too tight. I started one side and used the bottle jack to spread enough to get the second side started in then carefully tapped it into alignment.
