Hello - I have a 2005 Toyota Sequoia SR5 with 195k miles on it and need to replace the front shocks and struts. I wanted to see if anyone has a good suggestion on all-in one strut and shock kits. The stealership wants $182 for a shock, $251 for the spring and $196 for the upper components. Crazy! I don't have a spring compressor so I was hoping that there would be a good strut and shock option.

    Thanks - Jeff

There's a few out there for just stock replacement. Easiest to source would be the Monroe Quick-Struts, right around $100/piece for the whole assembly.

Or the prices from @Roman at Toyota of Cool Springs are much better and they'll give you a forum discount they list $112/piece for the shocks, $154/piece for the springs and $68/piece for the mounts.

You can replace the shocks with bilstein 4600’s or 5100’s without replacing the springs. You can always rent a spring compressor from Napa or O’reillys. Or Toytec has an Eibach coilover set preassembled, What do you mean by upper components? The top hat and bolts or uca’s?

I meant mounts. I couldn’t think of the word.

RE: Monroe Quick Struts, are they good quality? I saw a couple articles where they wore out quickly. Maybe a good question is how long do the last with normal driving?

Momma works ar Advance Auto so the discounted parts are a pretty big draw.

Pulled the trigger on the Rancho QuickLifts for the fronts. Already installed the 9000s out back with new heavy duty spring packs from Kansas city spring.

Her discount took $90 off of 225 x2.
