    Hi folks,

I recently purchased a 2006 Tundra XSP 4 door with 4WD and will need to put new tires on it soon. The previous owner put 255/65 R18 street tires on the truck and I believe the door sticker says the stock tire size is 245/75 R16. The reading I’ve done on these two sizes states that these are both around a 30 inch tire. The rims currently on the truck are 18” Enkies and has stock suspension. I am looking to switch the street tires with new all terrain tires and would like to go slightly larger without having to install a lift/leveling kit. My question is, what is the largest tire size that I can install without having tire rub inside the fender well? Can I get away with a 275/65 R18 without any issues? Could I go slightly larger to a 275/70 R18? I appreciate any input!

Thanks for the reply Shifty. I saw this thread earlier and it was very useful. The only issue is I didn’t see any information regarding 18 inch rims on first gen Tundras. I did find that Toyota put these 18” and 20” Enkies on a handful of trucks but couldn’t find much else about it. I appreciate any light you or others could shed.

Most of my expierience is fitting wider, slightly taller tires on cars. But some of the oddball size tires get expensive.

Dirt Deeds injectors, Addco rear sway, AEM dry flow air filter, last ever set of Stan's Try-Y headers, Borla full custom exhaust, front level, wheel spacers, and lots of electronics.
I've seen a lot of the BBS 18" and Enkei 18" with 285/60-R18. Been shopping for a set of the Darrell Waltrip BBS 18"'s. That matches pretty close to the 265/75-R17 I currently run.

The 17's I run are with a levelled front suspension. The 18's I was shopping for were all removed from the vehicle. The tires that are currently on my truck (265/75-R17) are slightly larger than stock, and only 1% or so larger than the 285/60-R18 that I've seen for sale. In my opinion, the 285/60-R18 would look pretty good on a stock height or levelled suspension.

Front levelled with spacer for now until I do 5100's. But it accomplishes the same goal.

Rebuilding the suspension with new tie rods, bushings, and ball joints before doing 5100 all around. Have it all in boxes in the garage just haven't had time. Only things I've taken the time to do so far is drive shaft rebuild with Dana/Spicer joints/bearing, and poly steering rack bushings.

Im actually here looking for my original tire size! For the 18” enkeis Have owned my 06 xsp for 14 years and i slapped on oversized tires right away.. want that softer ride back now that my wife is the one driving the truck i wish to put the street tires back like it came from factory But i cant remember the size.. performance and ride comfort decreased with oversize tires had some little rubbing too. Braking power and acceleration goes down! Yeah looks cooler but i dont care about looks anymore at this point of time guys.

Google says factory 18" tire size is 275/55R18.
