Thanks for welcoming me into this site! This is my first sc truck any good advice is much appreciated!!! Going supercharged and trying to get my ducks in row. Stage one Harrop supposedly will work without a tune but I don’t trust going that route! I just ordered the VF and Tundra tunes pack. I’ve heard my 07 is hard to get the ecu flashed to go supercharged? Toyota doesn’t flash them anymore. God I hope not cause I just spent 600 dollars for tuning! Anyone with some good information please chime in.

It's hard to get the TRD flash on a truck in general, unless you find a dealership willing to help you out.

If you're going down the VF + Tundra tune pack, you should be good to go, provided you receive a base map that is set up for a supercharged truck.

If you have the VFT supercharged tune you shouldn't need anything else. As far as the TRD tune, anyone with tech stream and the right cable can install that on your truck (it doesn't have to be a dealer) and VFT also provides the TRD supercharged tune too. And then your final option is HP Tuners, again coming with the TRD tune and then you can modify it. Essentially all tuning options offer the TRD tune, and then modify it from there.

I would recommend getting a wideband AFR gauge too so you can monitor your engine isn't leaning out easily, though that can also be done with the TorquePro app/OBD2 bluetooth module.

I have a Volant cai. Do you know if I will have a hard time tuning it with the supercharger. Some people have told me that it’s easier with the stock air box but I would like to use the Volant. Since I just bought a 120 dollar new replacement filter. Thanks everyone for replying! I’ve done many flashes on all my vehicles but they were just plug and flash a canned tune from a tuner. I really appreciate you helping me out! Maybe I’m over thinking this. Lol!

Yes and no... I have an AirRaid intake on my supercharger (long story) and currently have a VFT tune which is "correct" for it, but I recently bought the stock supercharger intake box from Magnuson and when I installed that I started getting lean out issues (perfect example why every supercharged truck should have an AFR gauge staring at them 24/7 imo!) and after some testing it was evident that the change from the AirRaid intake tube to the Magnuson was enough to make the tune unable to correct the fueling enough. The original VFT tune I got was running really rich, and I had Mat lean it out--well then when I put the Magnuson intake on (which the original tune was meant for) it was now wrong. So there is a good chance that the base tune from VFT will not be correct, it will work fine, but I would watch your AFR closely--for instance mine ONLY leaned out at a very specific load and throttle position going up a hill and was fine everywhere else, and the original VFT ran too rich for me with the AirRaid (which is better than too lean), so assuming you have the same issue at least you'll be on the safer side of the AFR. HOWEVER, there is a chance your intake is 100% fine. From what I've read, if there is issue you just scale the MAF settings (what one, no idea) based on your intakes diameter at the MAF vs a stock intake. So there's a lot of things at play and to watch for, being aware of how your truck is performing and watching telemetry is one of the most important imo especially with a new install. Before I installed my supercharger I watched the afr and other things to understand how they performed stock so I had a baseline to compare to after the blower. Might be overkill, most people with superchargers dont seem to pay any attention to that stuff, but I almost always am watching engine/trans temperature, timing, wideband AFR, narrowband AFR, intake temp, etc. Going with fancier tunes, different intakes, etc. just makes that all the more imperative imo.

TL;DR you'll probably be fine, but will want to fine tune your tune for the intake diameter change.

You need to call Keith Carty and chat with him. He is the owner of Dirty Deeds Industries, and probably one of the most known names in the Tundra world. If you have a question, he has your answer. 760-877-4234. He has a SC 2013, and turbo 2003.

I believe I asked about this similar question and I think the vftunes were designed for the magnuson supercharger not the Harrop so not sure if they are interchangeable.

OP, Why not get the Magnuson SC with their tune? That should be ready to go and you won't have to worry about your truck not running correctly. I think its 500hp, 550 ftlbs torque.

Also, there is a new policy now with Vf Tuner effective tomorrow. In order to tune other vehicles, not your own, you need to have a business name LLC, with a website. You going to purchase the pro version.

Individuals like us will no longer be able to flash or tune other vehicles. I just put it on here for info.

Harrop is already on the way. I’m just going to tune mine and my wife’s Mustang. I’ll have to buy HP tuner for the Mustang I guess.Maybe I can get it right with a little adjustments. I hope everyone had a good weekend! I’m like a kid at Christmas! Lol! Waiting on Santa to bring my present.

It’s starting out pretty bad! I received my supercharger from SDHQ and well it’s damaged a little. The pulley and coolant reservoir got damaged I guess during shipping. I will have to have a pulley but I think I can make the reservoir work. The flow ports are bent but I think I can fix them. I emailed SDHQ last night so HOPEFULLY he will make this right after 8000 dollars of hard earned money was spent with them! I will keep you posted! Thanks HAG1!!!

One more question. Anyone have a remedy for a transmission cooler that is in the way for the intercooler pump? I know I can do some fandanglin but I was wanting it to be nice and neat.

Hopefully, it won't take long to get replacement parts from Harrop. They must have thrown the box really hard to break the pulley. Or the packaging in not well thought out.

I just got off the phone with them. He sent me a shipping label for me to ship it back to Harrop Ohio headquarters. Once they receive it they are going to ship me a new full kit. So no supercharger until HOPEFULLY next week. I just hope he told the truth! I called everyone looking for a supercharger and they all told me 5-7 weeks back order. Wish me luck! Spending 8k and having to ship it back SUCKS! Thanks for replying!

That sucks with the damage, but at least they are taking it back. You will like it once you get it installed!

I appreciate you taking care of me! S*** happens! I just had major surgery at the end of June so I’m just a couple of weeks post op. Had a tumor behind my ear drum. Had a total reconstruction of my ear drum, ear canal, and the small bones for hearing. Cut my ear off and laid it on my face. Stitches from top to bottom of my ear. I just hope and pray I can hear out of it again! Three ENTs pulled my chain for two years saying it was just a ear infection! Kept me on antibiotics and steroids. Now my whole body is trying to get over it. Sorry if I was an ass!

Sorry everyone I’ve been trying to heal up from surgery! I love the Harrop! Haven’t put many miles on it yet. It really wakes up the truck! No problem passing anyone now but to be honest it wasn’t a slouch stock! I installed a afr gauge just to keep an eye on things. Now my paint needs some TLC! Waiting on VFTUNER for Tundra Tune packs(day 53) It’s running fine on stock calibration I just wanted to improve overall drivability of my truck. Also hoping tuning will help my transmission shifting since I went to a bigger tire.

No hiccups on stock tune? I'm glad it works flawlessly. This will be my SC of choice cause it works on stock tune. I really like the gear lock and direct shift feature. It allows you to use most of the available torque for that gear instead of the transmission downshifting right away. So with this SC, I imagine it'll be super awesome. One more testing: cold weather. I would like to find out if there will be problem/s during cold weather, 40 degrees and below.

Have fun and keep us posted.

It runs great! Only thing I see is when all the nannies are on it seems to run leaner at wot! With nannies off it doesn’t do it. It just lights my 305’s up! It’s a different truck that’s for sure. I should have supercharged it years ago! I love it! I hope I don’t have to wait to long on my Tundra tune pack! I’ve heard great reviews and believe it will improve my truck a whole lot more!

Just be aware that most supercharger tune packs out there are for kits that utilize the 4" intake pipe and larger injectors such as the ones supplied with the Magnuson kit.
Harrop Stage 1 is different since you use the stock NA airbox (it has a smaller pipe inside diameter) and stock injectors.
Make sure OV/VF are aware of that.
If you don't have luck with them, I do full custom remote tuning for supercharged Tundras with HPTuners.
Also, when you say "It runs leaner", how lean is it?

When I first go wot it is in the 15’s but jumps down to 12’s pretty quick! I haven’t drove it but about 50 miles so far. I just noticed it on the way to the tire shop the other day. Yeah I already paid for VFTUNER before I sent you a friend request. I wish I would have went HP because it would also work on my wife’s 2020 Mustang! I ordered the VFtuner on July 5th. They are claiming I have an oddball ecu Id??? 30C60000. It’s a 07 Tundra Crewmax Limited with 5.7

I have the stock air box on with a drop in AEM Pro-dry filter. My Volant cai was to long.
