If you haven’t done so already, I would check fuses and other more common issues related to the issue prior to pulling the switch. I have never heard of one of these switches going bad. Something the actuator or solenoid go bad as well. Might look there too.

To get to that switch, just follow a tutorial on how to replace the stereo. If you have an aftermarket stereo it may be worth a look in case it didn't get plugged back in. this may especially be true if the previous owner yoinked the stereo out before you bought it. they would likely be in a hurry. I would think if the problem was an actuator it would still flash on the gauge cluster when you turned the knob. If there is nothing, then yeah, I'd check the switch and fuses.

If there is nothing on the dash cluster then I would pull the fuse again, check it with a multimeter (if you haven't already) and also see if you have power to the fuse block. If there is no power there, then start a very careful check for rodent damage, as ican be fairly common depending on where you live.

I would take it back to where you purchased it from or the person who sold it to you. Makes no sense for the 4x4 system not to function two days after you got the truck. Did you test it prior to buying it?

Damn! Might best to take it to a garage and have them scan it for codes before you start digging into too far.

I wonder if someone messed with the bulbs? When you turn the key on and the system does the light bulb check where it lights up the warning lights, do you get a VSC OFF light for a second and then it goes out? The 4lo and 4hi don’t light up during that check. And, don’t get a Check engine light for a sec?
