Thought I'd join and post some of the fun I've been having modifying my 2007 Tundra Base (reg cab, long box, V6, 4x2). It was humble and homely when I found it a few years ago, having been a carpenter work truck for its first 12 yrs and 125k miles. Surprisingly though it had zero body rust despite living through winters in northern Illinois all that time, and weighing only 4700 lbs it seemed to have adequate power with the base engine.
Anyway, given what it was I had this idea to turn in into a legit PreRunner capable of carrying and chasing our dirt bikes almost anywhere. The ride & handling actually improved significantly, even just on normal roads.
It has bigger-better LT265/70R18 Grabber ATX tires (thereby also correcting the speedo), Bilstein 5100 shocks (raised ~1.5" front), and Auburn limited-slip differential (helps keep the ESC intrusions to a minimum), TRD Off-Road decals and PreRunner emblem, and of course a dashboard Hula Girl. Then dark window tint and black spray-painted wheels to finish it off.

Is it perhaps the only 2nd-Gen 'Tundra TRD PreRunner' out there? Next fun and unique idea, since it has the V6, is to convert it to manual transmission! Might have to make it think it's a 2nd-Gen Tacoma (swap controllers). Must stock up on beer for that project...

Oh, and this one is about as base as base can be, which I guess may be typical for RCLBs. Manual windows, manual locks, no cruise control, not even a tachometer. I like it simple - fewer electric things that eventually let the smoke out.

Odd that the 'base' regular cab would come with dual-zone climate control, though, isn't it?

    Welcome! Nice work!

My 2000 V6 was a manual, lots of fun whipping through the gears!
