    Thanks for response

But I meant the regular shifting mechanism

I know how to reel ease it like that and it does release/shift fine when the button is pressed but not when stepping on the brakes to shift regular

Has anyone ran into this issue ?

Check the shift lock circuit. I would start by making sure all the fuses in this diagram are good.

My truck just developed this but it’s an intermittent issue that I have not had a chance to fully troubleshoot.

The only way I found a way to get it to work is to take my foot off the brake and apply the brake even harder. I suspect it could be switch related (right side of the diagram above) or it’s the shift release solenoid (left side) but I’m leaning toward brake switch switch. I wish it’d do this at night so I can see if brake lights light up or not when I am unable to shift.

Turns out I had connector j71 and j72 plugged inversely

that caused the shifter to not shift, power outlet lost power, door open light would stay on with all doors closed and passenger airbag would not turn on cause of that issue

took over a week to find it
