Welcome aboard. There is an aftermarket option that some use when the factory cats are not an option. Think it’s the Walker ones. Several threads in here about cat thefts that mention it.

Look to RockAuto. I replaced the RH side both cats up front for ~$400 pretty reasonable. 4.7 motor

I replaced my driver's side about a year ago (25,000 miles). I used a Walker 54722. It's still working fine, no issues. My truck had about 260,000 miles when I replaced it. I couldn't see spending the money on an OEM cat for a truck with that many miles. My truck is a federal emissions truck and not a Cali.

My understanding is that in Cali you have to use OEM cats? If so that would really suck for you.

Don't have to be oem, just a CA CARB compliant item. In CO we fall under the same bs and I used walkers for my 04 sequoia last year when I replaced them.

I can also endorse the Walker cats. I only had to replace the driver side when the honeycomb disintegrated at 180k on my 2008. The Walker driver side was about $300 at the time a few years back while the OEMs were something like $2,000 each side. It was easy to install - bolted right up. Make sure you buy all new gaskets. They won’t last as long as the OEM’s but for the price, who cares? Mine were still good three years later after 40k miles when I sold the truck. Never threw a code or gave me a problem.
