Hi all, I am new to owning a Tundra and would like some help with troubleshooting this issue I've noticed with the truck. Is this a common issue with this model truck and should I replace the whole unit or can this be repaired?

    1. The volume and tune knobs from the radio doesn't always work. Sometimes when I increase the volume it will lower on its own. Seems like the knob is very sensitive.

    2. The recirculating button next to the AC will go off where the green light is no visible. I would have to press it again to recirculate the air in the cabin. This happens often when I am driving.

I have never heard of the radio lowering volume on its own, does that happen while you are trying to adjust or just randomly as you are driving?

For the A/C recirc, that is a know "issue". Toyota has it programed so it will only stay on for a set period of time and nobody can figure out why, it is a big gripe from a lot of people.

The recirculation button will indeed turn itself off. If you hold it down for 3 seconds, it should remain on.

With regards to the head unit, I would just replace it with something else. The issue you're describing is likely a dirty rotary encoder, but it's just not worth the time to attempt to repair.
