    Hi All,

Just got my 2008 Tundra Double cab with the Type 2 stereo with changer in it (AD1804). I believe it has 7 speakers. The system itself sounds decent, but it is OUTDATED. No BT, no Android Auto, etc. I want to replace the head unit with something decent that brings it to the 2020 technology level.

    1) Any suggestions for a reasonably priced head unit replacement model?
    2) The speakers sound find, seems they are still good. No need to replace. Right?
    3) Do I need an amp with the new head unit?
    4) I am reasonably good with my tools, something I should tackle myself or have it installed?

    Thanks
    Jeff

Comes with all you need to install. No need for new speakers and amp, unless that's what you want. Easy to DIY. Lots of YouTube videos out there to assist. Crutchfield gives you pdf install files too.

Your stock speakers may sound better or worse with a new headunit. Depends on specs of your new headunit and tuning. You may like it with the factory speakers. You may find them underwhelming after putting in a head unit.

Good suggestion Zebruaj. Much more reasonably priced than I thought it would be. Got one with a small built in AMP and a backup camera I can hook up. Bringing the technology into the modern era.
