Folks, my understanding of the vapor canister system and function is that the canister itself stores the "vapors/fumes" from the gas tank so they don't leak into the air. The "Purge Valve" (located ?) works with the "Purge Valve Solenoid" (on the 2009 Tundra 5.7, located under the engine vanity cover; very easy to get to and replace) to allow the vapors to be sucked from the canister to the engine to be burned during the combustion process. I.E., when ever the engine is producing vacuum (you let up on the throttle) the purge valve SOLENOID senses the vacuum and sends an electrical signal to the PURGE VALVE itself to open up allow the fumes to travel to the engine. Vacuum then goes away - purge valves closes (i.e.- a "one-way" valve). My question is, where in Hades is the purge valve itself located?. I probably have looked at it trying to find it and just didn't realize what it was (knowing my track record!) Thanks.
