    Hi Everyone,
Starting to look at campers to pull behind the truck (2010 Tundra SR5). Is there a maximum weight I should be looking at or size limit? For instance, I was looking at a Salem (by Forest River) and it says it's weight is around 7500. I suspect that's a bit much for my tundra? If that's the case, should I be looking for more lightweight campers in/around a certain weight limit?

    Thanks!

What are the features and specs for your truck? Which engine and drive type etc. ?
What does the manual say or the door sticker for your payload and towing capacities? Having this info will help you make an informed decision about your camper purchase. Have you towed a large camper before? It can be a chore and an experience you may not appreciate. 7500# is likely the super dry weight with no batteries and propane and none of the gear. That’s top end of the towing range for these trucks. Most choose to stay around the 5000# and 24’ or less mark for comfort and stability towing. I tow a 7200# dry weight camper with mine and you know it’s back there at all times. It’s pushing the limits of payload and tow rating. Above all, be safe.

Thank you --- I know there are a lot of variables. the truck has the 5.7L, it's 4X4, TRD ... on the door tag it says: GVWR 7100LB. I have towed a large camper before but it was with my Ford F350 diesel which could tow your house down the road LOL.
