I'm contemplating a 2011 Volkswagen so couple questions.

Currently leaks coolant - Some days a liter a day while other days not any at all. Leaks more with heat on but owner doesn't know where it's leaking from. Oil is clean and coolant is clean so not suspecting the head gasket. Think this is water pump or something as simple as a radiator line. Owner only knows it's coming from the "front" of the car.

2.5L with 253k miles. Little rough on the outside but not bad considering mileage and Ohio weather. Seller asking $1600 for it.

I'm seeing if any other Volkswagen people are on here or just general knowledge of the coolant system and what I could be looking at.

    Thanks!

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
If the AC works I'd offer $900 - no more. VWs are small compact and tough to work on. Luck.

AC works. it's not crazy small. Maybe a chest hair larger than a corolla or civic.

That's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of. Owner is obviously optimistic about the car and says how reliable it's been and how he's driven it all over but he also is wanting to sell it. I don't mind maintenance or small repairs here and there but I'm not interested in deep extensive work.

My oldest had a 2009 with the 2.slow. I hated that car with a passion. I got tired of the late night calls telling me his Jetta wouldn't start. Got so tired of the problems I gave him a Honda Fit with 60K just so he could finish college with a reliable car.

Ive owned some VWs before, never again. Quality issues, more repairs than expected and dont even get me started on electrical issues.
Next time you are on a long drive check out VWs and Audis and see how many have brake or other lights not working......and it is typically not the bulbs.
