    leveling kit, iron bumpers
Hello just recently joined here, I have had my 2012 Tundra 4x4 its whole life, currently i have a leveling kit, with 275/55/20R and iron bumpers on the front and back that weigh apox 150-200 pounds each.

I've had that setup for about 2 years now after i hit a deer, insurance paid for the bumpers and leveling kit. I really just started noticing really bad gas mileage and I'm talking about 5-8mpg city and if I'm lucky 10-12 highway.

Anyone else having this type of mileage after similar upgrades?

P.S Yes i know tires are small but i had to get a set of 4 and that's what i could afford at the time :)

Edit: Truck is paid off but im thinking about trading it in for a tacoma cause of this terrible mileage.

My 3rd Gen Crewmax gets between 6-10 mpg city, depending on how I drive it. No aftermarket mods to boot...

I'm not suprised you lost mileage. Iron bumpers weigh the truck down, and usually decrease aerodynamics especially with a leveling kit.

I average 14-16 mpg in mostly rural driving with my 011, can average 17.3- 17.4 on the interstate, with the cruise set at 70

Have you figured your MPG with a pad and pen?

Regardless of the mods you listed, under 10mpg would signal to me a issue. Have you noticed coolant levels dropping, thick black smoke from the tailpipe?

That MPG seems really low. There is a thread on the site (sorry I don't have a link to it) describing a similar MPG issue. As I recall, the fuel system / injectors were cleaned using a fuel additive and the MPG improved significantly. Maybe someone will post a link to that thread.

One thing I always do is clean the MAF sensor..
It's easy and usually works on higher mileage/ older vehicles I've had.
The MAF detects how much air is coming in and how much fuel to use..
If its NEVER been cleaned or replaced the read would be off.

MAF sensor is usually located after the airbox and secured with 2 screws.
Unclip the plug. pull out sensor and clean with MAF cleaner ($5-$8) let dry and plug it back in..

You should notice a difference in power and mpg..
