Forgive me I’m sure this has been discussed ad nauseum.
My Tundra has the 5.7 L engine standard cab, 4WD.
I checked the owners manual and it has three tow weights listed for the model for my truck.
Engine is 3UR-FE and model code is USK56L-CRTSKA.
The truck weighs 7100 LBS so so do I subtract that from the GCWR?
I’ve read so much stuff it’s getting confusing. i have a travel trailer max weight around 6600 LBS.
I’ve been told by the dealers and RV dealers I am more than ok. I would rather know for a solid what I can tow in simple terms.
We might upgrade trailers and my head is telling me 10K is towing vehicle capacity. many help would be appreciated.
Btw I just signed up and was short on time to do extensive search.

You should be good, ~10k is likely your tow capacity but need to pay more attention to payload. After passengers and trailer tongue weight it runs out quick. Also, a weight distribution hitch is a must for anything over 5k, still recommended for less than that.

The sticker on the inside of your drivers door will tell you everything.

This is where you get the code to check the owners manual that you have already typed out. This will tell you max trailer weight and combined gross.

I’m pretty sure your Tundra doesn’t weigh 7100 lbs. that is your GVWR.

I pull a Jayco 24' trailer trailer, max weight 7,000 lbs. My trailer fully loaded tongue weight is about 750 lbs which leaves only about 500 lbs for cargo/passenger in the truck. It is the tongue weight that restrict most of us from getting bigger trailers, not the tow rating of the truck.

Thanks for replies. I just bought an equalizer 4 WDH.
I pulled my step son’s trailer that is bigger to get registered and went very smooth. Granted we weren’t on the highway, hitting decent up and downgrades.Ok the gross vehicle weight would be 7100.
We would have my wife and I and two dogs and light cargo in the truck.
I don’t want to be one of THOSE guys.
I don’t see many Tundras pulling trailers and that’s fine for me. I don’t need a 5th wheel or a huge TT
A TT we were considering is around 8600 max. I told my wife well I don’t want to drive at max or around max capacity.
Since the truck has 54k miles and paid for I don’t want to inherit a truck payment for a trailer.

You said you have a standard cab truck does this mean a regular cab with just one door?
The Reg cab does have the most capacity of the Tundras but the others all have less.
    Pic?

Good catch. That’s what I’m saying by to much reading and to many videos.
My truck is a double cab.
I am not one to push capacity limits. I understand that there are variables.
Ultimately I’m trying to get max manufacturer specs.
With that I’m going to go with the 20%
    under that recommendation.

The main number you should worry about first is payload, towing capacity doesn’t really matter. Go look at the thread “what do you tow with your tundra” and so many people towing way more than the truck should but that’s their problem they didn’t do their research. I tow a TT about 4300lbs, I leave the truck empty besides 3 passengers including me, all my cargo goes in the trailer which is only food, bottles of water and clothes. Sounds like you’re doing good but just because the tundra 4wd can tow about 9600lbs doesn’t mean you can get a trailer that weighs 9500lbs, I’m not saying you are but many people think that way.

Before our RV we pulled a 1995 Mallard 24ft trailer. They were not light in the 90's.
Use S4 or S5 towing and your truck will be fine.
